tracker host? who do you use?

tracking host? besides beyond. I have mine on liquid web right now... want to move a way from them and test 2 new servers to see which will be faster in redirects. thoughts on who you use? I want a cloud base for real time upgrades.

RackSpace/GigeNet if you want managed otherwise AWS or DigitalOcean.

US-based? How are you planning to test redirect speeds? Ideally you would tune the server for a specific tracking system and then benchmark from there on in. The physical distance between users and 'well configured' servers is likely to be the limiting factor during testing. Under volume/stressful loads though...

What is your specific goal here? To have a fast US-based VPS for p202 tracking? I use Ramnode, they have datacentres in Atlanta and Seattle.

i have my own custom tracking... prb us base since most of my traffic is us. someone told me about serverpronto, but been reading bad reviews on them.

Ramnode would definitely be on my list for testing if you're looking for the absolute fastest response times. Depending on your budget, you might also want to test Linode, DigitalOcean, Liquidweb, and AWS high-IO instances.

thanks i have my developers looking into amazon right now. my tracker is currently on LW but high volumes the redirects seem to slow down. I think Amazon might be the good fit. thanks all

Why are the redirects slowing down? That would be my question... is it a database-related IO or memory issue? The PHP handler getting bogged down? NewRelic would help reveal this and then you could make a better server change decision.

@ianternet - if you're looking at AWS, make sure that you're going for a higher-end instance with solid I/O performance. Low-end AWS instances are NOT suitable for paid traffic marketing.
