Cake vs HasOffers

Hey Guys,
A good friend is starting a niche affiliate network. He is in the development stage, and is currently using HasOffers.
Are there any advantages to Cake that he should be aware of, as I notice a lot of networks are using it as well.
Im sure he has done his due diligence, but I thought I'd do him a favor and ask some peeps with a bit (read: a shit ton) more experience

Thanks

BJ

I don't run an aff network myself, but from conversations with friends who do, I've heard that Cake has significantly more accurate conversion tracking.

It might be worth asking one of the Adsimilis people what they think, as they recently made the transition from HasOffers to Cake.

Isn't HasOffers banned on Facebook?

Cake is ok but overpriced. I have used both and currently use cake but I might switch back because im not too happy with cakes support as of late.

Thanks for the feedback Guys, good to know about the tracking comparison, and the FB ban.
Ill pass it along, they might have to give cake a go.

@waltermitty, aside from support are there any other reasons to switch back, and are you concerned with the FB ban?

Price is an issue with cake @4k vs 1k/month. The only time I feel like cake is attentive is when im dealing with a sales guy. Support not so much.

Cake also has a cheaper tier available called cupcake that @ $400 a month and might work well with a niche agency.

Thanks Waltermitty, 4k is pretty steep, ill have them look in to the cupcake plan and see if it would do the trick.

With Cake you can get enterprise to around $1.5/month but that comes with no clicks LOL. Ill dig up the click prices to get you a better idea.

That seems highly unlikely. I think you might be thinking of the HasOffers app tracking which recently got pulled?

Cake also recently launched a smaller platform, Cupcake, which might have more reasonable pricing for smaller ventures.

Cake is definitively superior in terms of features and UI.

It all depends how much these features matter to you compared to the extra price you will pay.

I would get on a call with Cake so they give you a demo and you decide based on that.

I just launched my companies first CPA offer on a few networks 2 weeks ago (expanding from a Pay-Per-Call offer we currently have) and we started with HasOffers ($800/mo) & a lead distribution software called Boberdoo ($600/mo).

Just got back from LeadsCon 2014 last week where I met the guys and first heard about Cake. It looks like they have the tracking & lead distribution functions we need all under one roof and at a cheaper price ($500). That's saving around $900/mo & was a no-brainer so we just signed up to the CupCake platform yesterday.

Also just signed up for STM today because I need a refresher on the whole CPA industry ha. CupCake's slick so far and I'll give you some more detail a bit later.

Cheers,
-Pete

Make sure you know the exact function set you will need from cake as cupcake is somewhat crippled. Since you said $500 I assume you signed up for $399 base price + leadgen($99) upsell.

Ooh ooh, ask them where their datacentres are. Still a bit puzzled at their tracking speeds when dealing with global traffic.

I will bring it up with the rep I have been dealing with, i am surprised they do not have an account on the forum. $99/month seems like a small price to pay for the ability to discuss the issues we have with their product.

You are correct. HasOffers affiliate tracking was not affected by this, just the MobileAppTracking product.
