Is JuicyAds just a really poor network to start out on? (5)

Is JuicyAds just a really poor network to start out on?

there's a massive bounce rate and terrible CTR on landing pages. There is what seems like a continuous stream of multiclicked bot shit to be sorted and blocked out, there's next to no publisher compliance allowing all kinds of low quality clicktrapping. By the time I chop all the crap traffic sources, there's little volume left. I've done some relatively in depth spying on the network competition which is surprisingly a lot lower than I would have expected. There's only really a small handful of advertisers that are continuously buying through the platform, and it would appear they do little to no actual optimization on their traffic sources as they appear in virtually every adblock. It almost has me questioning if those users are simply internal campaigns running on the network.

The platform is clearly broken as all fuck. You pause a campaign and it will continue sending hits sometimes into the next day, which makes it nigh-impossible to do any sort of day-parting as far as I can tell. I have one campaign which appears to be performing better in the AM hours, yet I can't just pause the offer or keep track of anything. My network rep told me their stats aren't live and that its just data trickling into the display late, but that's utter bullshit, unless that data is trickling into their system, my prosper, and my Piwik analytics all late. The closest things I've had to getting anything consistently profitable have been small foreign language markets, which always wind up getting wiped out by strange fluctuations in traffic. For instance I was just slightly staying in the green consistently with a Swiss campaign, when suddenly Swiss traffic spiked unexplainably across the network for me without maintaining traffic quality. Out of nowhere I was paying for 4x as many clicks, without a corresponding rise in leads. It didn't seem to be reflected in any one single traffic source, so I couldn't block any obvious offenders. CTR just suddenly strangely surged over the same range of daily impressions.

So are JuicyAds RONs just the shittiest possible place to be playing around right now? I was pretty determined to stick with this as my first traffic source and to make it work, as I had previous positive experience with the platform in the past. Around 4-5 years ago the traffic quality was great and I was banking a steady 400-500% ROI off their clicks for months on end. It just seems like publisher quality has hit rock bottom, and their clicks are almost all garbage. I don't know if trying to continue optimizing my traffic sources is even worth it, as it would seem any ad spots worth a damn have been direct bought already.

So should I pack my bags and quit bleeding money into JuicyAd RONS, which are looking like utter trash?

I've read that thread, and it doesn't really touch on RONs at all.

Juicy Ads RON shouldn't be your first source to launch campaigns but its a great place to scale proven campaigns.

I use Juicy Ads RON all the time and yes the platform lags quite a bit but with experience you can work around it. Like you said, if you pause the campaign, it will keep running for a few hours- its true for blocking site IDs as well, you block a site and 3 hours later there's an additional 500 clicks. There's a ton of bot clicks and the place reminds me of Plugrush, but once you get through them there are quality sites with good ROI.

Just put a low bid to identify all the crap, block them and do this for the first few days. Once you get conversions and the crap is weeded out, you can up your bid. That's how I work with JA but curious to hear what others have experienced.

My only concern from what others say is that lead quality can be a concern which is why I am very conservative with my banners there, but I haven't experienced this myself. I have a US campaign running there for a year and its still doing well.
