I'm still pretty new to AM and just joined STM recently. Been spending lots of time reading and studying now.
- Read through the STM Getting Started Guide ebook, along with http://stmforum.com/forum/forumdispl...-By-Step-Guide
- And a ton of Charles Ngo's posts, especially this one - "How to Make it in Affiliate Marketing", http://charlesngo.com/how-to-make-it...iate-marketing
The STM guide says to do a 30-day challenge (at least 3 campaigns/day) and stick to a traffic source. Charles Ngo advises the same thing in that post: "Set a budget, time frame, and goal (ex. $2000, Launch 10 campaigns in 30 days, hope 3 are profitable"
Time to take action...
My goal is to master Facebook, and I'm going to start out with gaming. I'm already signed up to A4D, Neverblue, and Peerfly. And I signed up to SocialAdNinja and am studying that too.
- $1,500 budget for this 30-day challenge
- Follow Along post of my 30-day challenge to track my progress
- launch 3 campaigns / day, post results and lessons
What do you guys think? Think $1,500 is a good budget starting off for the next 4 weeks or should I up it a bit?
Any tips/advice would be appreciated.
$50/day is a good place to start for gaming on Facebook - it is definitely enough to get traction and learn. How much do you have on reserve should you want to scale?
Starting a follow along is also key and we'll be able to provide more specific feedback on your campaign/approach there.
So far you seem to have the right mindset and are absorbing info, which puts you in front of most people new to the game!
$1500 is more than enough. You've got a solid set up. Time to take action!
I'm a newbie but from what I learn since is: we need to gather as much data as possible to learn quick, invest more (money and time) - you will gather data quicker, invest more - you will learn quicker, invest more - you will see green earlier, Do Not fear
to invest more as that's the only way to learn... So probably if you invest more you will achieve your goal quicker?? But the most important is to Take Action..... hmmm
Hi adsurfer,
I'm actually going through the same challenge right now and practically with the same budget.
I'm in A4D and iQU and already picked three games. Now I'm struggling with the decision whether to test all three of them or just pick one. One is downloadable title, one is browser MMORPG targeted on tier4 countries and one browser RPG for tier1 countries. I'm curious about the tier4 thing which offers considerably lower payout but you should be able to buy clicks for like 3-10 cents. Also looking forward to see the conversion difference between SOI browser game optin vs downloadable title.
Right now I'm waiting for final campaign details from my AM and I'm ready to go.
Best wishes!
In my experience the conversion rate depends less on if it's a browser or client download game and more on the appeal of the game itself, angle etc. I've had 4 GB download games convert at 20-40% but browser games at 2% and vice versa!
As long as the client download is not the conversion point, i.e. the site registration is.
Tip: Always check the offer conversion flow - how does the user sign up? Is it easy? Is the form a pain in the ass or has a dozen fields? Additionally, with some games the offer is under the umbrella of a network/distributor like Nexon, Kongregate, etc. It sometimes pays to ask your AM what happens if the user already has e.g. a Kongregate ID but starts playing the game. You re-engaged a user - but didn't add to their userbase - what do you get?
