Need a host in EU (NL or DE) that's like Beyond Hosting

any suggestions?

every host I keep finding is a retard, doesn't know customer service, or what it means to manage a server and wants me to install nginx, configure it, etc even though I buy supposed 'managed'. They say they only 'manage' hardware and if the server crashes they reboot it (even though I bought advanced service level). Arghhh help please

Am on ramnode.. fast n all but 2nd downtime in a week due to faulty hardware. And i want managed like beyond.

For a dutch webhost I recommend CloudVPS, just love the service.

He's asking for managed in NL... try recommending a provider that fits the requirements.

iAmAttila, I would happily assist but I really don't have any experience with NL, We've talked about a deployment there but its never materialized.

EuroVPS has been the WORST host I've ever used.
They fucked it up SO HARD for me... and even 2-3 times:
Downtime, bad configuration, ignoring clear instructions, forgetting configuring backups allthough I asked them,..

iAmAtilla, please don't pick these guys.
Seem you got lucky with your sysop kiefer, but there are some really bad ones at EuroVPS.

Our affiliate program does not pay that good, its one time payouts so theres no reason for people to push us.

heh. although I must admit I never used their managed service. I ordered an unmanaged box then had my guy/me configure it. debian/nginx/mysqul/php setup.

so I cant comment on their managed service, but my experience for their unmanged, the only issues I had so far was a short downtime due to me forgetting to pay my bill

I'm not a BeyondHosting customer--was simply asking them a sales related question in regards to one of their dedicated servers and this is the type of service I got:



It took them 3 minutes to read my ticket and send me a reply.

And if that wasn't good enough, the second time I wrote back they followed up within 2 minutes. And my tickets weren't one-liners either, there was a bit of information there to read.

I'm currently hosted with LiquidWeb, and although their service is great, they don't answer tickets in 2 minutes.

Those are most of the time predefined replies from the level1 support. All they do is forward your ticket, they don't actually solve it.

Level1 support resolves over 98% of all tickets opened with us. They know support, not how our infrastructure works internally to provide an extremely fast reliable service.

Our level1 team is equivalent to level3 at any other provider.

Im using your service right now. Im into pop traffic. Please advise me if I use dedicated server with litespeed, do I need a CDN service along as well? I want to run traffic in tier 2 and 3 countries.

People and their nginx fetish. If varnish is caching in front of it abstracting your webserver and php engine won't do anything. :handsinair:
