Start with multiple ad network or multiple offers?

Hi Stackers!

Unlike other type of traffic, mobile has a lot of different sources. Which do you think has a higher % of finding a profitable campaign:

1. Start with 1 offer and test multiple traffic sources
2. Focus on one traffic source and test multiple offers

Thank you!

After studying the forums
I would advise you to pick 1 source and 1 offer. Seems like this is the way to get valuable information

I would say ask your am for the top 2-3 offers in the vertical you are promoting.

Then see which offer is best.

Then find that same offer on different networks ( some networks convert better than others ) and test those.

1 traffic source.

If the offer you want to run only accepts a limited number of countries, make sure the ad network you want to buy traffic for actually has a decent amount of traffic for that demo. Talk to reps, the tools some traffic sources offer aren't that accurate.

Both approaches work.

However if you can afford to fund more than 1 traffic source, start with a proven offer first.

After you've got that go with the ad network that has the most traffic for the geo the offer accepts traffic.

Most of the ad networks give you a rate card with volume by geo so you can use that to decide.

I would really focus my efforts on mastering one source at a time. Offers come and go, sources stay around.

Thanks Mr Green and bbrock32. Here's the second part of the question:

So we should focus on one traffic source first. Then should we

1. test as many angles as we can for 1 offer that we have researched or proven converting for others or
2. test as many offers as we can and focus on ones that show initial potential?

I ask becoz after reading Dr. Ngo's posts and numerous posts by Mr.Green, I know that profitable campaigns are built but not found. I remember Mr. Green mentioned he tested 30 angles in 10+ traffic sources with one offer. But at the same time, we hear people say the offer is the most important. You cannot make a bad offer convert with the best landing pages and ads. It seems confusing to me because they seem contradictory. I'd like to know how super affiliates do things.

Thank you!

I say a combination of both, creathinker. If you have an offer you know converts, go with angles. Usually, the better the angle, the cheaper the traffic will be.

Yep go with converting offers, and create different angles. This will help you convert different demographics, and draw higher ROIs.
