Vpn vs. dedicated question

Hey guys, quick question on you guys insight about this, i am currently running a vpn with beyond hosting but my traffic volume has gone up a good deal lately, do you think i am safe staying on a vpn if i am running about 30,000 clicks a day? or should i be moving to a dedicated asap. Is there anyway i can see if my server is getting bogged down right now?

thanks

Depends on what you're doing.

If you're doing PPV, you're load times are everything, and if it's slowing down, might need that dedi.

I honestly doubt it.. been running on a VPS for a long time, but Im running the best one that ServInt has, I think the 120 dollar package or something and been good so far with me! Not running 30k in clicks a day but dont think you need dedicated since 30k a day isnt that much...

If you're loading time are relatively fast, then stick with a vps.

One piece of advice I can offer, get a CDN so your loading faster. It might not be a big difference on small click amounts, but international/high latency users will notice a big difference with a CDN

what is a cdn?

A CDN is a system that makes multiple copies of your files ( html pages , images , javascript etc ) in diff servers in diff countries.

When a user requests a file it sends it from the nearest server to the user ( ex. if user requests a file from Germany they send it from their nearest server to Germany ).

This makes load times slower ( esp for INTL users if your host is in the US)

oh i see, so overall you guys think i should be ok with a vpn doing like 30k clicks a day average right.

What are your VPS specs? There are different types of VPS servers you can get.. if you have the cheapest one then maybe you should upgrade to a better vps just to be safe..

We have dedicated servers to.. Consult us before you go thinking about upgrades ect. Open a ticket

Your VPS will handle 100k/day without issue, if your having performance problems let us know via ticket.

@shoent : It is VPS ( Virtual Private Server ) not VPN ( Virtual Private Network), a vps is a virtual server where you can host your stuff, vpn is a technology allow you to connect two private networks together, so it appears you're inside of the network, hence you can utilize your vpn to view those non-US lp
