Hey,
Well, I'm testing some campaigns on my personal account and I have run in to a bit of a dilemma as far as cloaking is concerned. Usually, when I create an ad, FB guys take time to approve it and go to the landing page and approve it after checking it out. I can see on my cloaker visits from them. and it flags those ip's so that they only see the fake landing page if they come back. After my ad is approved, I turn the cloaker to the landing page...
Now, the thing is my ads are getting auto approved as soon as I submit them and I don't see any visits from anyone in my cloaker. Will my campaigns and ads get randomly checked at a later stage? And how do I go about this?
Yeah you'll get random checked all the time.. and you need to block more than ips..
FB will crawl your page at least once every 24 hours. Whether it's a FB object (such as FB Page, App, Event...) or external URL, if it was visited recently and has "expiration" tags set to sooner than 24h from last visit, you will get more frequent visits. There are also various services, apps and bots that visit. If you need to change things in your cloaker, it's not really cloaking, you are simply baiting and switching, and they will get you, and you will lose your account.
If a reviewer approves an ad after looking at the landing page, the same URL will be approved for subsequent ads, as long as the ads are ok. They will look at each ad (it's *not* automatic, they just plow through them in batches) but only look at the landing page once...
If the crawlers notice the page has changed significantly from the cached version (either from last crawl or last manual review), your account will be investigated. Similarly, if a reviewer comes back and the page does not meet the guidelines but it was originally approved, you will be investigated.
The above poster is right. Facebook changed they way it used to work. Now they often re-visit lander. You cloaker won't work.
