1. usually how long does it take to get approval from adviser for the custom banners I designed?
2. do I need to get the approval for every single custom banner(even though it is little change like sharpen the image, add a little white bar, make the design more colorful) if they require it?
3. Let us say. in order to get rough idea of CTR for every creatives, can I run some initial test(4000 impression) without using my affiliate link? After finding out the winner, then submit it to the adviser to get the approval? What works for you guys.
1. It varies. Sometimes minutes, hours, or even days. In my experience you have an active AM and they have an active relationship with the advertiser you're looking at anywhere from 2 to 48 hours...
2. No. You need custom creative approval when the advertiser or network says so. Ask your AM if you are unsure. Always check the offer terms, prohibited traffic sources, etc. Changing stock creatives slightly, e.g. resizing, sharpening, saturation etc. should technically require approval but you can generally safely get away with it. Can always say oh "it must have changed when the traffic source auto-resized my banners"
3. No. Don't do this. The advertiser doesn't care about whether you send the traffic to them directly or via any aff link - they care about protecting their brand image and avoiding legal repercussions from affiliates advertising their product in naughty ways. I tend to just whip up dozens to hundreds of different images/ad copies etc and get them all approved in bulk even though I might not test 9/10 of them and the campaign may flop.

If your account is in good standing it's usually instantaneous or within minutes.
I am getting ads approved in less than 10 minutes on average ( ~2-4 minutes )
