Ex-Aff gets $48 Million Series A Funding!

Avazu Shanghai based aff network (amongst other things) just closed $48,000,000 for their Series A funding.

The most impressive thing though, their CEO Shi Yi, he's 27...he was an aff like all of us...then he scaled...like a MOFO.

Interesting, I'm fluent in Chinese, I wonder how big the Chinese market is for media buys etc. I should sign up and take a look.

The amount of money in China is astronomical in any sense. The have over 1 million citizens with over $1 million USD wealth. As far as I know there is a large barrier to getting into advertising over there though... apparently there is hesitation to work with people/companies from outside CN, you have the whole firewall issue which isn't really that big of a problem, a completely different advertising ecosystem and population for which there is much less data to guide you, etc. Even looking at what kind of ads/landers/offers work in Japan vs elsewhere is crazy.

I live in China and worked for 2 local Chinese companies. I think selling to the average consumer would be the same, banners > landing pages > offer. My work colleagues did the same shit they did in Australia. Played online games and fucked around when the boss wasn't around.

Any insight on the best place/networks to score Chinese offers? E.g. gaming, lead gen, shopping/daily deals.

i can tell its more than 1 millions citizens, atleast 10x times. dont trust Forbes report cause its china.
