considering lots of people will be getting a Thai sim, it might be a good idea to have a number directory

although I like the whatsapp idea. keep it simple.

Is there anything like whatsapp that's not based on the phone number?
I'm switching sims a lot and it drives me crazy.

Telegram, it's cloud base, highly recommend

The problem with whatsapp is it will blow up your phone in no time. We are talking over 250 people. Fek manually adding 250 contacts. I think so far the best bet is fb pm group or twitter hashtag.

Mr Green, Try Telegram, apparently it's easy to manage 250 people in a chat

Think I'm gonna pick up a sim too, never had a working phone overseas which has been good/bad haha but with the amount of people coming to this event definitely just gonna pick up a 7/11 one.

@bbrock @dalhaze

Hopefully no pocket thieves this time hahaha!

I downloaded it but don't see how how it's different than whatsapp group wise I still have to manually add people as contacts?

For whatsapp, once you have your SIM changed, it would ask if you want to update it with the new number. Just select "NO" and your old contacts will still remain intact.

Skype group or facebook might make things simpler?

Make a Facebook group chat and just invite everyone you know in? As long as someone is friends with someone else in the conv it should work...

what about a skype chat group? I just went and set something basic up and there's already 12 or so guys in there.

03-07-2014 07:13 AM #14 Mr Green (Administrator)

Skype is impossible to follow of you have 250 people talking. I'll set up a fb group.

Facebook group better then using the event page?
