How does tools like SocialAdNinja or AdBeat work?

From my SocialAdNinja account:



How can they gather such detailed data as "Profiles for this Ad", age groups, days running etc. Do they run a massive bot net or something? Just curious on the big picture.

I'm pretty sure they set up different profiles and run a script to grab the ads.

My initial thoughts too. Seems like hell of a lot of work... but hey, they sure reap the rewards from their work as well.

It's one of those things that will be easier to do at scale than for small numbers of accounts. Not to minimise their accomplishments, though - running and collating on the scale they're doing has got to be tough ( and will have all sorts of hidden gotchas you don't realise until you're trying to do it ).
