Exoclick - Premium? But Which Site?

Hey guys

I have been on the forums for a while and it seems that people say Exoclick is decent, but they say the rubbish from xhamster is rubbish.

But if it's not xhamster which other sites do you recommend?

Unlike TJ where each site gets you a lot of hits, the sites in Exoclick seem to be scattered, apart from Xhamster so which RON sites do you target for USA visitors?

Suggestions?

First thing, Xhamster is not rubbish, it's a lot of traffic and very hard to optimize if you don't have a big budget.
Many people made a lot of money from XH but it's not where you start, it's where you run when you have every other details fine tuned.

As for US, the way I do it, I start with a RON campaign targeting premium sites and optimize from there.

Thanks for the response.

I just went out and made 30 different banner styles/angles with 3 variations each. That should cover an entire range of things. So my next should be:

1. Run it on RON
2. See which banners/variations have the best CTR on sites
3. Get rid of the losers and stick with the sites that have the best CTR?

Mind you, I'm promoting my own CPS offer, so it's a bit different to most normal dating CPA campaigns.

I second bbrock's response. I optimized my campaigns on TJ and then I ported over my campaign to XH. While TJ may give you less traffic in some spots, you can expect a burst of traffic on XH thru Exo. If you've got your ducks aligned properly in a row, it should be a breeze.

So instead of focusing on EXOCLICK I should start with TJ get it working, then port it to EXOCLICK?

But TJ doesn't allow GIFS! That's kind of annoying though isn't it?

Well, that's kind of a tricky question. TJ is very strict when it comes to ad approvals. You can slide pretty much most kinds of banners under the sun on Exo.

TJ *does allow* Gifs. Who said they don't?

They don't allow GIFS in most NTA/B placements.

I'm having a rough time getting stuff approved on both sites! But I hear the quality of traffic on TJ is much better.

Exact same process, I do this for all countries. Exo is one of my least preferred sources but if you have a working campaign you're missing out on a lot of potential if you do not scale it here as well

XH is not trash at all it tends to be harder to get working but definitely still a gold mine in terms of how much traffic there is on this site! Flash Flash Flash in your face gifs have worked best for me, gotta stand out on that site.

Yah TJ is one of the best quality sources for sure in the adult industry, especially PH and YP placements. Unfortunately no gifs on NTV's, but there is still mega money in jpegs. Top right and footer will allow gifs, something most people have overlooked which is still up for considerable money, footers. Not the 300x250 footers, but the 950x250 etc footers.

Paste 3 smaller banners onto a banner of that size, almost ZERO comp. I've made money on these for too long, its time to share lol

Oops! My bad. I didn't know that.

Yeah, TJ quality is great, but it's not the only source of quality traffic. I mean, as far as adult dating and quality is concerned, it depends what kinda language you use on your marketing material (banners and landers). But, that's a different topic altogether.

funny, I always experienced the other way around. most of the banners I submit on exo get banned. typically I will have to re upload the banners multiple times to finally get them approved


EDIT: btw, does anyone know how to get around the $1500/month limit on exoclick? i'd rather just throw everything on my cc

You can hit up their support and if you have a bit of history with them they will increase the limit.

Expect nothing too crazy though, it will most likely just be to 3k-5k, so in the end you probably still have to use wires.

At least I can throw a bit more cash on my cc, and have my campaigns running while I wait for the wire to go through

Jumping straight to Xhamster (in US/UK) is sort of like jumping straight to the top of Everest without altitude training.

I agree that TJ is a good platform for nailing down your campaign. Once you have it sorted, there are plenty of traffic sources you can scale on to. Exo probably wouldn't be my top recommendation, but you can't ignore it given the size and volume available.

my 2c: if you have good tracking and enough budget, Exo's fine. Just test your shit enough and you will break it, even without dayparting or any super-cool tricks we've ran on XH and other Exo placements for more than a year, in U.S. We just found our set of tricks/angles sometime ago and some campaigns lasted for months on end without much dancing around. Ive got campaigns that I havent touched that run for few months on Exo (USA) already.. Cant say they pay all of my bills though lol

Yeah XH/PH quality jumps up and down on Exo from time to time, sometimes banners that used to have 0.7% CTR the day before all of a sudden throw 200,000 imps at you with 0 clicks. THat happens. Some pubs juggle around networks in the ad spot and Exo shifts to being #10 in session depth instead of #1 and there you go, no conversions..
Just try to test as many radically different banner styles per placement and you will find your gold. No point in testing 3 ads and calling it quits, there are probably 50 ads that won't work on XH for some reason and 3 that would. Once you find em - easy $XXX/day. Get on it!

So I took action and moved to TJ. I set up a new LP and submitted 71 banners, 51 got approved... but ZERO impressions?

Strange. I need to call TJ to ask them what's up.

I guess TJ is "the altitude training" before you climb Mt Everest right?

Did you give it enough time?

Generally I start getting traffic 30 mins after banners are approved.

I just raised my bids to be the highest, set my budget to $20K a day, day parting from 7pm to 12am, with a frequency cap of 3 per 24 hours.

Hopefully it won't rape my account, I only put in $500 for this test. I won't wake up to see -$19,500 in my account will I?

Nah they max I have seen with very aggressive bidding was -$400.

Thanks guys, I moved to TJ and put time targeting in place. Even as the highest bidder I only spent $150 a day which so happens to be my realistic daily budget too, even though I put $20,000 as my daily budget. Found a few banners that are doing much better so will tweak it more!

Those radically different banner styles are so important.

Generally I'll try several variants of:

- Cartoon animations
- Full size GIFs with overlaid text
- Classic 50/50 Image/text splits
- Banners featuring matures
- Banners featuring BBWs
- Banners featuring tattooed/emo girls
- Chat popup styles w/ Windows, Facebook and bespoke themes
- On/Off pics (stripping down to nude)

You have to test thoroughly across the board, or there's no point in testing at all.

That means adjusting LPs too.
