Hey guys,
I have a few music based websites which I've set up with Amazon to link directly to band t-shirts and hoodies etc. In the sidebar for example i'd show 4 pictures of t-shirts each with a direct link to each t-shirt on amazon, if the user clicks, the cookie is set.
With one of the more popular sites I've actually set up an Amazon based store via FreshStoreBuilder, so i pull all the product data from Amazon and it's set up like a proper store. The cookie with amazon is only then set if the user checks out with any items from the store.
In a way i thought setting up a store would look more professional, maybe bring in more sales, or more items being bought at the same time, but then the amount of cookies being set i can see decreasing.
Any advice would be great on the best way to go. Would probably make more sense to go back to direct links, get more clicks and more cookies set. What do you guys think?
Looking at my own Amazon stats, the majority of sales are from products that I never promoted.
I'd recommend grabbing as many cookies as you can.
I also one time thought that a store would be great, but in my case it wasn't sales decreased. As Finch said most sales are from other products.
Yeah, I've only had it live for a week and already clicks have dropped from the hundreds to under 50 or so. Lessoned learned here, will revert back to direct links, much easier to get users to click. Thanks for your advice Finch and Graham.
I have fresh site builder also - makes a few $ a month
