Facebook & Dieting...

Hey everyone,

I hear that FB are tough of dieting. My question is; if you own the offer that you're selling, will you still be banned?

Thanks

fb doesn't like affiliate marketers. if you're owner/merchant it should be ok. just be careful on how dirty you're making your ads as those can still get disapproved/cause a ban.

You can check their guidelines on dieting here: https://www.facebook.com/help/399392800124391/

If you're the owner of a diet offer I would recommend getting in touch with them and setting up an agency account. Work with Facebook on this one, adhere to their guidelines and reap the rewards of a professional business relationship.

Facebook General Guidelines

Image:

Ads and Sponsored Stories may not contain “before and after” images or images of unexpected or unlikely results. Ads and Sponsored Stories may not depict a state of health or body-weight as being perfect or extremely undesirable (e.g. you cannot use an image showing a person measuring his/her waist or an image focused solely on a person's abs).

Language:

Ads and Sponsored Stories may not call attention to perceived imperfections through the use of language such as, “Are you fat?” or "Balding?". Instead, text must present realistic and accurate information about a state of health in a neutral or positive way (e.g. ‘Lose weight safely and effectively' or 'Best Hair Renewal Product').

Acceptable:

"Healthy Tips for Weight Loss"

"Want to Lose Weight?"

Unacceptable:

"Lose 25 lbs in 25 days"or "Feeling Fat?"

(These are unacceptable because they indicate an unhealthy amount of weight loss in a given period and imply that someone is of a certain body type.)

Targeting: Health and fitness products must be targeted to people 18 and over.

Dietary and Herbal Supplements

Ads and Sponsored Stories that promote dietary and herbal supplements are generally permitted, provided they do not promote products containing anabolic steroids, chitosan, comfrey, dehydroepiandrosterne, ephedra, human growth hormones, melatonin, and any additional products deemed unsafe or questionable by Facebook in its sole discretion.

If you have a straight sale product it is possible for you to get ads up that conform to FB guidelines. It won't be easy but it is possible.

The issue right now with anything diet related on FB is that so many people are cloaking (because it makes crazy monies!) that the entire niche is under heavy observation. As long as you're running CPS (straight sale) and not using an advertorial or CPA looking page, you may be ok but would probably be wise to establish a relationship with a rep and let them know exactly what you're doing so that they can keep an eye on things for you.
