(NSFW) Case Study + Giveaway: Interactive Dating Webapp (31)

Sup fellas?
I recently found one of my old campaigns on my HDD and decided to give it away. I'm not running it anymore cause I hate dating and the constant work that comes along with it (fighting banner blindness, caps, split testing gazillion different offers and networks etc.), but the campaign had a positive ROI.
I'm pretty confident that the campaign still works today, so feel free to copy it. I'll include the source files at the end of the post. I see that a lot of people here are still running (and ripping) the 3-rule-landers. I've always had more success to come up with something new than just copy and pasting other people's stuff... if you do that, you have no real competitive advantage. Stuff like this is hard to rip and even tho I'm giving away the source files here, 50% of people won't give it a try and 45% of affs will bitch about the 'complicated' setup. Maybe a hand full of people that are reading this will make a nice chunk of cash with it.

Please note that this may or may not work with the banners you're running right now. This could be an advantage. Out of the box thinking is the key.

Stats of the first month:


I ran this campaign for a bit over a month (about one year ago) on one traffic source and in one country.
After optimizing a few banners the campaign averaged 90% ROI in the last week before I pulled the plug. I only tested 2 offers on street payout.

The Idea
The idea behind this campaign was to create a fake dating app that will have the user strongly interacting with the landing page. More engagement = higher conversion rate.

There are 3 questions the user has to answer:

1. Where are they looking for singles?
2. How old are they?
3. Are they searching for male / female?

• Scale to different countries and languages
• Scale to mainstream dating (Facebook + cloaking anyone?)
• Try using different angles and targeting (sushipussi.es – find the hottest asian chicks in your town!)

• Collect email addresses and infos. More infos = more money. Send them dating tips and reviews to other dating sites, send them mobile dating app install offers (probably some good old mobile lovetester pin submits as well (not srs)). Collect more information about your leads and you can milk them for a long long time. This also gives you a competitive edge when competing with other affs that do not collect any leads.
• Create a mobile app to reach more users (new communication channel!).
• Create your own paid site based on the webapp. Instead of sending your visitors to affiliate offers, add a payment and message function. Offer IAPs for your mobile app.

• Offer rotator for offers
• More search / filter options for increased engagement.

1. Download the .zip file: http://ibnz.ws/files/fuckfindr_ibnzws.zip
2. Upload the 3 folders into your web directory
3. Create a new database
4. Log into the database using MySQL and import the user-1.sql file.
5. Open application/configs/application.ini and edit your database name, user and password.
6. You will find 4 different .php files which are redirecting to your offers in the /public/ folder. Place your offer links in the .php files.
7. Point your traffic to /public/index.php.
8. All done.

3. application/views/scipts/index/outgoing.phtml – outgoing click redirect layer
4. application/layouts/scripts/layout.phtml – place your tracking code here
5. application/controllers/indexcontroller.php – redirection logic, names used for profiles
6. application/configs/application.ini – database login details
7. public/Ressources/Public/JavaScript/SingleFindr.js – map function
8. public/Upload/1/ – female profile pictures (.png)
9. public/Upload/1/Static/ – female profile pictures (pixelated .jpg – used for gallery view)
10. public/Upload/2/ – male profile pictures (.png)
11. public/Upload/2/Static/ – male profile pictures (pixelated .jpg – used for gallery view)

where does the weight of this lp come from? it has its own db? I'm playing with it now on my server...also did you test with or without the gender verification step? I'm sure there's not that many lesbians looking for horny girls in my area.

Very sick lander! Just love the flow of this lander and how it gets the user into a funnel!

One thing though, I would use this instead "Our App is 100% Free! However some of the sites might incurred a small fees if you wanna get the girls laid!" to help on the lead quality.

Been doing this dating game for over 2 years now so I know quality is king!

First off amazing share. A few things did not load correctly (like css file) until I removed the first forward slash from /Resources/Public/Css/All.css from the layout.phtml file. I also changed UK to US in the singlefindr.js file so now when I enter my zip code in the US, it pulls in the correct city.

So what I haven't been able to figure out.
1. The default map view. Would want to change that to the targeted country (which would match the country change in singlefindr.js).
2. I can't get past the (choose male or female). I all I see is the # and nothing loads or changes.

Besides getting stuck on that page, all of the layouts match the screenshots. Any ideas? Thanks

Holy crap thats a nice idea and flowing landing page, i could imagine CVR was huge after that flow.

...Installed it, everything's fine (had to play with some paths to css and JS but all of this works, except it doesn't show the last step with icons and user profiles - just shows this http://screencast.com/t/hFFsYWE7 - any tips on what might be causing this or how to sort it out?
DB is populated, and it can access it (i checked by removing this string from JS file: screen changes to this http://screencast.com/t/ebYKdKSf without an option to click through.

Seems like Jquery doesnt see g-maps distance or something like that..
This is the string causing errors: (line 205 in SingleFindr.js)

Is it possible get in touch with your coder so he could help sort it out?

I was hoping to get your help please. I am having hard to putting my offer page to 4 different php files in /public/ forder. I have also read your posting to Sean which shows the explanation about header redirect and still confused. Should I put this

into the 4 different php files? and.. I have no idea how to point my traffic to /public/index.php. Do I also have to put extra coding on that 4 php files?
