Stick with POF or Time to Move on?

Hey Guys

I'm having a tough time here and need some opinions. Do I move on to new traffic source or keep beating the POF horse?

I've invested thousands of $$ into POF over the past year but can't turn a profit! I feel like I "get it" but obviously there's "something" I'm missing.

Is that "something" me doing something wrong 100% of the time or does it have something to do with POF - a fantastic place to learn the fundamentals but next to impossible to turn a consistent profit?

As far as me "getting it" - I mean I can churn out ads, copy, angles, landing pages, campaigns. I can track, read data and act on it. I think enough skill and understanding that I can take and learn a new traffic source fairly easily.

Assume I've got the fundamentals down but there's just something key that I'm missing to make profitable campaigns. I have a few thousand $$ more set aside to invest.

Do you guys suggest I keep pouring money into POF to figure out what I'm doing wrong until I turn things around? Is it worth it?
Or do I take what I know and find out what I'm doing wrong while learning a new traffic source?

Hey mate,

It's hard to give advice on what you can be doing. Since we don't know how you are doing it. STMers are profiting on POF so should you. I would run a follow along campaign using the data from the campaign you have the most data from. That way we can tell you where you are leaking.

Just follow the GETTING STARTED GUIDE 2013 over and over again. If you are using POFpro then revisit their Mastery Guide.

If you are saying you already used thousands on advertising, then you should be using POFpro.

I'm also starting out but I'm seeing result such as increased CTR, conversions here and there, some profitable campaigns, $5/day campaigns.

I guess you should never stop building campaigns, one after another and pause them. When you make changes or are waiting for ads approval just resume the pause campaigns. This way you test a lot, learn more, experiment and find winning combinations within the same daily budget.

I'm still a newbie but these steps are working for me. Hope this helps.

Definitely agree with Mr Green here! The single most critical thing I'd ask here is "targeting" - what targeting options have you run, and equally, what targeting options haven't you run?

I reckon POF is pretty unstable when compared to other platforms. As in, you cant get long term winning campaigns easily. You have to always be at it.. But, you get better at if you keep trying new things.. Have you considered and/or tried other platforms/niches? Its good to not keep all your eggs in one basket. So, give it a shot with a new platform and new vertical.

Cool. I'll throw up a follow along in the next day or 2 to get some direct advice on what I'm doing.

Thanks petrev. I've read the guides over and over and over and over along with every POF post I could dig up around the forums here. Without question, I wouldn't still be here today without all of that - it keeps me motivated to keep going, knowing that it is possible to succeed. All the info has definetly helped me jump over some major hurdles and given dozens of "ah ha" moments.

POFpro - just started using it a few weeks ago and MAN is that a game changer!! Was using P202 before which I'm glad I did because it's quite a bit more manual/hands on than POFpro so I learned and got a full understand what's going and how tracking works. Took me over a week to get a full grasp of P202. I think I had multiple campaigns launch within 15 minutes of installing POFpro. I won't work without it ever again as long as I'm on POF My trials about to expire so will have be paying for it hence trying to figure out right now whether or not I continue with POF.

I've seen many of those small profitable campaigns but ever time, after a couple of days, conversion all of a sudden stop. I keep the campaigns going, testing different things, thinking that since they've converted in the past, they must be able to convert again - that's when I start losing money. And I think this is where I'm getting discouraged and start to doubt POF. The campaigns continue to get clicks, the LP's get click throughs but for some reason, the conversions stop.

Great point caurmen. I'll start trying some different targeting that I've got in the habit of overlooking.

My optimism's back up Thanks again gentlemen

Yeap, POFpro is definitely a game changer. My main focus right now is POF because of POFpro and how you can handle campaigns.

I have the same issue. I get clicks, good CTR, good CTR on LPs but the conversions stop after a few days. So you are not alone.

I think we should listen to the Mr Green and Caurmen. We are a long way ahead getting good CTR and having the best tools to work with. We just need to understand targeting
and go beyond the technicals. Understand how and why the users click and what makes them convert. Add that to out LPs and try to make things work.

I would stick with one campaign and check and uncheck everything to see what happens. Bids, Ads, Logins, etc. Do that with multiple campaigns, understand BBW, Religious, etc
with these different options..

I don't have an answer but this is what I'm thinking...

Please do correct me and add anything that you think we should do.

Thanks guys.
