It's really easy to get one. Every sizable shopping center will have a bunch of phone shops where you can buy prepaid sim cards cheap.

Whenever i travel i try to go phoneless!

Might not be everybody's cup of tea, but it's really nice sometimes. Facebook + email will sometimes cut it.

Just go to any 7-11 ( they are on nearly every street) you can get 3Gb of data for like 6 euros, cheap as chips! For iPhone 5 too.

At the airport they have the kiosks, they'll set you up and put the sim in your phone.

Yeah go to 7/11 and ask for a Happy Tourist Sim. It's cheap and has 2GB of data.

If you want a more professional resource:

http://prepaidwithdata.wikia.com/wiki/Thailand

I've used it for over 45 countries. Almost always accurate.
