Dismal LP CTR - Juicy Ads (7)

Dismal LP CTR - Juicy Ads

I'm currently running on a few different traffic sources, but Juicy Ads RON in particular is giving me trouble.

I've run multiple landing pages that worked well on other sources, but with Juicy Ads they all run in the low single digits. We're talking 2 - 3% CTR.

I've tested multiple other landers and they all have the same issue. Page load times average about 500 milliseconds, with no nginx log errors, so I'm ruling out tech issues.

Is there some type of Juicy Ads quirk I don't know about? Any help would be appreciated!

I experienced the same thing with JuicyAds. I got a really high CTR which looked already suspicious. The CTR of my landing page was <5% as well. When I changed to TrafficJunky my LP CTR went from 5% to 30%.
Lots of garbage traffic at JuciyAds!

Yeah make sure you check the IPs for bot traffic. A lot of pubs use bots that click automatically on ads.

If you collect the IPs you can send over to Juicy and get a refund.

Good plan. I'll have to figure out a way to trick any type of Casper script or headless JavaScript file too.

Do you find a lot of guys use the same IP? I figured they'd be smart enough to use TOR or some type of proxy system.

At least if they do there is often a pattern hidden somewhere in the data, provided you have the tracking system to back it up. E.g. they may rotate IPs but the ISP is often the same. They may rotate IPs, ISPs but it's all done in a Chrome browser on a linux VM, etc. They may visit the ads daily > you can cross-reference day-to-day IP logs and see which always come up.

This isn't about bot traffic.

Juicyads has a lot of junk sites which experienced advertisers block when running a RON campaign. You need to add parameters to your tracking url in order to collect data on which site ids and zones your traffic is coming from. That will allow you to identify the culprit site ids and block them in juicy ads campaign settings.

When you do this you'll quickly realise you're getting most of your traffic from a few sites (which most others have probably already blocked) and that once you block them your traffic will drop (prompting you to raise your bids in order to compete with other advertisers for the high quality placements). A RON campaign is for the longterm as you will need to keep refining it by collecting data and blocking sites/zones.

The low landing page CTR is usually a symptom of click-trapping.

Many of the low quality Juicy sites are plastered in ads. I mean, plastered head to toe in titty swinging GIF'ery.

It isn't so much that the user was interested in your ad, it's that his mouse veered a centimeter to the right or left of the play button and he ended up on your page by mistake.

As marduk says above, these placements will deliver most of the traffic. Once you filter them, the metrics become a little more conventional - although still lower CVR overall than you'll get on platforms like TJ.
