Do you track your conversions in the source?

Hey,

I was just thinking about this. I track my conversions through subids between my tracker and network.

But I was wondering, do you also track the conversions on the source as well? I've read somewhere that affiliates don't do this because the source can see which campaign is doing well and swipe it.

It's up to you. I will if I have the option. Less time spent looking at stats when you can see ROI at the source and this is particularly useful in cases where the traffic source doesn't pass cost data (which it almost never does).

Affiliate marketers are often paranoid. Work with a reputable traffic source and the chances of them stealing your campaigns is negligible.

Some traffic sources like decisive (for smart CPM) and adwords (for target CPA) require to know when you've had a conversion to bid accordingly.
