Places to Avoid in Bangkok: REAL TIME MAP and TWEETS
Okay, I asked a few folks at CNN the places I should avoid while at Bangkok.
They referred me to this map, which is updated regularly showing the various protest sites:
https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid...8&source=embed
It is maintained by a Bangkok based farang travel blogger who seems to have made it his mission to tweet and update his readers on the protest situation. He seems to be posting several tweets an hour.

Isn't STM headquartering in Grande Centre? That is where I was going to book.. Looks like it's near the Asoke intersection
any plans on changing the hotel?

hmmmm So where is everybody staying at?
Is STM & F5 still going to be headquartered at Grande Centre Point Hotel Terminal 21?

Yep, it's not like grenades are being thrown around in the hotel lobby :P
I think it'll be fine and it's booked for a lot of people including us already.
We may use a different daily meetup point, but Grande Central Terminal is the hotel a lot of us are at.
WE WILL HAVE A FULLY UPDATED + CLEAR SCHEDULE CLOSER TO THE DATE TO KEEP THINGS ORGANIZED!

Quick update on this - the main guy who's Tweeting about the protests and where to avoid specifically says that Terminal 21 is safe, as is the mall, provided you enter from the Skytrain, not the street. I'm not planning to change my hotel just yet.

I was planning on booking Grande Centre Point 21 today but I'm not sure if I should hold off or not now.

I'll let you know if we make any changes. I arrived in Bangkok yesterday. It's relaxing, sunny and warm. I've been wondering around the place and haven't seen a thing. In regards to Lumpini, we have a few weeks to make a call. No stress!

I just decided to fly out to the meetup and now i'm all spooked reading these articles. So you're saying from Terminal 21 to the Sheraton Grande it's all good?

It's all good. Here already with my girl doing the tourist thing. No problems whatsoever.

We've adjusted a few locations just to avoid any slightly potential hazards, we have a very tight grip on whats happening in BKK.
We'll release the updated schedule closer to the meetup time, everything is staying the same except for an updated brunch spot and new park location.

^^ I'm beach side at the moment, it's sad to say the island folk don't seem to want to get out of their hammocks for our wonderful cause.
