How To Deal With Frustration?

I just started advertising on ExoClick pushing adult and what I noticed is that I am getting frustrated too quick when I see that my ideas aren't that good as I thought and that money is going without conversions for hours..

especially when you dont know anymore what to test next

It really makes me wanna hit something.. haha. maybe its time to buy a boxing ball

How do you guys deal or dealt with frustration ?

one thing that I never seem to have trouble with is "not knowing what next to do". there is always something available. sometimes it feels like there isnt, and that's when I sit back, throw everything on the table and think to myself "what am I doing wrong?!?"

because it happens a lot more than I want it to

a whiteboard helps out a lot. when tossing ideas around, I like to have a board to look at, showing everything, numbers.. all in my face.

frustration? no clue. when I get really frustrated, ill just walk away from the computer head to the bar with some friends. sometimes its really hard to "shut off" and think about something else

I lost 4500$ before i started getting it... took me 7 months to finally get it too... up until then it was a lot of failure after failure.

All I can recommend is lose only as much as you can afford to lose, don't borrow - think of that money as an investment in an education...

Failure makes us better And practice makes perfect.

I agree with general consensus punching shit helps get rid of frustration. Consider picking up a martial art

Weed, sex, or exercise. Just do something that is the complete opposite of work. Chances are you'll have an "A-Ha" moment once you clear your mind of what's bothering you and focus on something else.

I realized that it's part of the game

Not just affiliate marketing, but it's part of all skill acquisition. You suck for a long time until you're good.

Forget all those "success" stories you hear about a newbie making $10k in 3 months. Notice it's always posted by a guy who's trying to sell you something. You need to ground yourself in reality.

Truth is these days it takes people maybe 6 months - 2 years before they're competent. There's just too much to learn, and the game keeps becoming more difficult.

Maybe my IM bio might help you out http://www.charlesngo.com/the-rise-of-ngo-chapter-1/

But yea we've all been there. I kept going simply because I felt affiliate marketing was my last shot at a rockstar life. I didn't want to spend the rest of my life stuck in a cubicle.

How do I deal with the frustration? Simple. Build more campaigns.

If you stay stagnant frustration will start bogging you down, and cripple you to affiliate marketings worst disease, Analysis Paralysis.

Building more campaigns will help keep you focused on the data and not on the emotional side of things.

I don't have a specific way of dealing with frusteration, except drinking does work.

..BUT when i got on a vacation, i ALWAYS come back hungry and motivated. So maybe thats what you need. Even if it means 1 week off computer work and focus on physical activity the whole time.

+1 for vacation. I was getting nothing done the last week so booked a 4 day ski trip, came back and feel worlds better and more importantly getting more done (in large part thanks to dr ngo's productivity section on his blog as well)

After 1 week of vacation i can't wait to get back to my campaigns as well.

P.S. Smoking joint "reboots" me from time to time.
P.S. Boxing is also works good for me.

try meditation it really works to get rid of stress and anger. plus has tons of other benefits

its like having your computer run really slow and is all messed up. so you turn it off and back on and everything is normal again.

Exercise, meditate and don't forget to sit up straight and smile, remember, form implies function and our body language has a direct effect on our mood and well being. So if you're ever feeling stressed out sit up, relax your face, force a smile and try spread your body a bit and see what happens.

Good posts in here. What works for me is just getting off the computer for a while and doing activities that will get your mind completely off work.

Drinking, smoking, sport, shooting the shit with friends and sex all do the trick.

Great thread. I've been in a state of frustration the past week. Went out to the park and took some time to just enjoy being outside. No matter what happens don't give up! Just keep going. Keep pushing. Somethings gotta click at some point.

Watch this video for some inspiration:
