Alright, so almost all affiliate has their campaigns set up a similar way. We all host our landers on a specific domain that is relevant to the offer we are pushing. But from a customer point of view, they click on your banner, get directed to your super awesome landing page at supersexfun.com click through... then what..? They get redirected to a different domain which had the offer
You would think from a customer's point of view, this would raise a bit of confusion and suspicion. They thought all these girls were on supersexfun.com and instead they are brought to hookuplove.com; the actual offer
Now im obviously not saying this doesn't work, but can we improve this making the domain redirect better?
So say your lander domain is supersexfun.com and you are pushing a casual dating offer called HookUpLove
Why not register a domain that begins with a "com" and then a random string that you would expect to see from any website then add a subdomain to host your landing page for that specific offer
Here let me give you an example..
So instead of our lander domain being:
http://supersexfun.com/us/lp1.html
http://hookuplove.com-session-id-32hdjjdjd373bd69.info/us/lp1.html
Loads of people are doing this already.
In my experience, it does give a marginal bump and more if you put the logo and make the lander look like its a natural extension of the website (buttons, font, everything). But from the testing I've done, its usually the overall layout (especially the background picture) that makes the difference.
I use to make landers that emulate the offer as much as possible but the time and resources required isn't really worth it. I would much rather spend the time to make high converting layouts for that particular country so I can continually improve my "baseline" landers if that makes sense. Still I'm curious to hear what other peoples experiences are.
My experience is also that domains only make a marginal difference - but it'd be interesting to see more tests!
Clicks are lost all the time for whatever reason, no such thing as 100% click delivery.
I think this is really overanalyzing. It could give a small bump, but I don't think it'd be enough to make a difference to be worth the effort.
With adult you're usually switching or split-testing offers, so it seems like a pain in the ass to make a domain for each offer.
I think there are maybe 100+ other elements you could test that would make more money. I'm very 80/20 oriented in my strategies. Just focus on the elements that make the most difference, and spend your time scaling.
I have split tested in the past and didn't really make a difference.
As others have said there are far more important factors to consider.
