You wont believe what just happened..

i was testing some campaigns with TJ and decided to test exoclick. I set up the same campaigns i had over on TJ, put in 200$ and ran it, and decided to take a nap. When i wake up my account is -200$.
ive got 3000 clicks with only 9 conversions. This ever happen to anyone ?

Haha it's happened many many times. It's part of the game. Take note on where your clicks where spent, and what made that traffic different from TJ. Was it the type of site, was it the geo, was it the banner placement, was it simply time of the day?

Never tried Exo, but it does not have a daily budget?

Well now you learned the lesson

Even when you set a daily budget, Exo oftentimes overspends a big % if it's a high volume campaign (have seen up to 50 %), so it's a good idea to keep a close eye on new stuff after launching.

Starting out with a frequency cap of 1 is also a good idea on Exo to limit the floodgates a bit.

Hahah yep been here as well.

Here's probably what happened:

1) no frequency capping

2) your defauly bid was set well above the rest of the auction so you were allocated a large % of the traffic. Make sure you check the bidders hierarchy before kicking off a campaign.

I'd stick with cpc when doing RON just to keep things under control. Once you have collected your placements and narrowed down your banners that converted, switch over to cpm. With this, you'll get your $200 back many times over very easily when you work off your data that you collected.

Good luck.

This has happened to me on Exo too. The CTR on my ads were terrible, stepped away for a bit and ended up draining 100 bucks.

happened to me so many times in the past.

same with just horrible converting days. going from 10% conversions to 1% is annoying

I feel like this has happened to just about everyone here.

Exo is the last place I ever bring a winning campaign - in my experience it is one of the shadiest sources as far as BS clicks / user trapped into clicking / or never sees your ad (depending on if you bid cpc or cpm) so if I do decide to scale a campaign that is working everywhere else over to exo, I watch it like a hawk.

I sort of agree. for some odd reason, i payed 5.35 for 1 click on a site.. when i was bidding alot lower then that

ah yeah this stuff sucks, but I'm pretty sure most affiliates have gone through the same thing.

Having a high budget with RON traffic is gonna end up bad if you go to sleep, lucky it was only a nap mate and not a full sleep. Onwards and upwards

1. NEVER run RON campaigns on exo in a high volume GEO without blocking the large sites first if you dont want your budget drained fast, unless you know what you are doing.
2. NEVER run RON campaigns on exo using CPM, unless you only pick a limited numer of sites that you know have good quality placements.
3. NEVER count on exo respecting your daily budget cap if you step into a large volume GEO without having large sites blocked.

I learned this the hard way as many on this forum )
