Mobile Madness

Alright, time for a follow along.

I am new to mobile. Been digging in for about a month. Got a little lucky with one of my first campaigns and had a small $100 a day profit campaign going. The offer got pulled, so back to zero. So I figured I would start a follow along as I try to build more profitable campaigns.

I am going to be focusing on app installs. The campaign is a Google Play Install.

I have been running the campaign for about a week both from app and display traffic. Losing a little money, but gaining some data. My biggest problem at this point is trying to get cheaper clicks. My epc on the campaign is about .03 and any effort I try to lower my bids I just stop getting traffic. My CTR for my banners is about .7 and on display is about .18. The offer payout is .4 with a conversion rate of about 8.5%

The offer is pretty broad appeal, so if I can get cheaper clicks I think I can begin to scale, but stuck in a bit of a holding pattern as what to do next.

I am direct linking the campaign. I am not sure if I should integrate landers. A big problem I am having is click loss. Losing about 25% of my clicks from my tracker to the network. Worried that a landing page will just increase the click loss.

I have a had some issues with tracking so as of today I am going to be trying CPVLabs new mobile tracking features that were just released.

hows the cpvlab mobile tracker compared to imobitrax (if you've used it before)

The click loss is most likely due to your tracker showing TOTAL number of clicks and network showing UNIQUE clicks. Don't be afraid to test landers, just do it, sometimes it works better even for straight up installs.
Depending on your traffic source, you can try an "auto redirect" lander with an alert box, so your CTA is basically the text on the alert box. These kind of landers work very well with app installs

potato: I am not sure. I am going to start testing it today. I just always preferred CPVlab. I was having issues with my imobitrax install. So I am going to make the switch back. I will keep you posted.

maximallimit: That's a good suggestions. My current traffic source would not allow it, but maybe worth trying something on another source. The click loss is taking into consideration uniques. I was thinking of trying light speed or something similar, thinking it could be a loading time issues, but not sure.

Definitely worth testing your loading times - tools.pingdom.com or Uptrends depending on where your campaign is targeting.

Took a little hit with the app download campaigns. Got the notice that the payout has decreased. Second time I have been burned on the android app download payouts.

Don't think I can make it work with my current traffic source and the new payout. Going to spend a day or two regrouping and figuring out which campaigns I should be launching.
