Google Display Network vs. Media Buying

Hi guys, quick question:

We're a lead gen business working in the insurance nice. We do really well on the Search network but for some reason haven't had any luck with the Display network. This is despite trying for several months with about a dozen different banner designs and sizes.

If we can't make the Google Display Network work profitably, does that mean trying a media buy (through sitescout or adbuyer) would be a waste of time?

Which countries are you operating in? Generally speaking, channels like Sitescout or Adbuyer are hard to make work on verticals such as insurance. It is not impossible, but you will likely tear your hair out doing it, and your clients will complain about quality (especially if they are used to search leads).

If you can't make it work on GDN, yes, those other channels will most likely be a waste of time. These are basically sites or placements that GDN will not take ...

Email would be much better for insurance.
