Help with postlink/news feed ads

Yo guys,

First actual post on here aside from the occasional comment.

So I've been doing RHS for affiliate marketing and branding/event marketing for a couple years.

I can get RHS profitable quite well, but it seems like from what I'm reading and what my FB reps say a larger percentage of leads are coming in from newsfeed lately.

I've been doing gaming lately so for US/CA/UK/AUS my CPA cost needs to be $2-3 to be profitable - I can get my CPA cost as low as 0.40 on RHS, but the best I've been able to manage on over 1k spend is a $5.55 CPA cost on news feeds.

So an example of what I did yesterday:

I make 2-3 posts on my gaming fan page - different img's/wording(going to an image lander with an auto redirect to the offer landing page)

I make 2 Ocpm(optimized for conversions) and I make 1 CPC.

I make separate campaigns for each and I duplicate the advert in each 2-3 times (looking for the highest ctr/lowest cpa, pause the low performers after an hr or two)

Best CTR I've seen is %2.xx

I think that's all the relevant information, anyway, any insights would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Are you seeing a significant difference in CVR between your RHS ads and your newsfeed ads? Or is the difference in CPA just down to CPC differences?

My conversion rate does seem to be slightly lower than my rhs, and I expected it to be higher (and it needs to be in order to offset the higher cost, that or ctr be higher).

So I think it's a combination of both.

FB marketing overall is intrusion marketing. Then when you get into the News Feed, you are basically yelling at them. You need to use images of skin/girls (you're looking to get that CTR to 7%+) coupled with imagery relating to your niche.

Unlike RHS, the News Feed has a limit on ads appearing for users... So they have to get clicked like crazy. How big is your demo?

Make ads ghetto looking too... MS Paint. Use arrows, red and blue text, always include "click here" underlined (in Google Blue colour) comprising less than 20% of the total pixels.

Hey Redrummr,

My demo size was around 800k

Just wanted to say, got my ctr up to 6-7% yesterday - thanks for the tips.
