Reliable dedicated server in EU?

Hey guys,
I'm looking for hosting company in EU as reliable and solid as BeyondHosting in US. I need a fully managed dedicated server. If anyone could recommend one i'd appreciate that.

hetzner.de is pretty good.

Another vote for Hetzner here. I know people doing some pretty scary Big Data stuff with them and they've not had any problems.

I use these http://www.ovh.com/fr/serveurs_dedies/ but they are not managed... I manage my servers

i use OVH as well, cheap as chips. yes, it's all unmanaged, but that's all the fun :-)

Damn , how the hell do Hetzner and OVH make a profit at these prices?

I pay double for my US servers ( even more for some ).

Maybe it's time I do some EU server shopping.

https://www.digitalocean.com/pricing - choose the Amsterdam DC

It is a VPS, ummanaged but fast as hell when you know how to configure it.

i've wondered that myself. back in the day of the early 00s, US servers were wayyyy cheaper. the only explanation i can think of for OVH is that they're state subsidised by the socialist government as part of some 'tech innovation' fund or something.

They have their own datacenters, use desktop hardware (not that it sucks), only support you get is hardware replacements.

Its all econo hardware, like ECS ect low end nas rated sata disk.. ... all non ecc memory to.

They make ROI yearly... hardware churn is slow.

Yep, we had bought one of those large storage systems to replicate backups to but it would randomly go offline every 40 days or so.. they took hours to fix it every time we opened a support request.

I would avoid if possible...

OVH + Server Surgeon third-party management has been an excellent combination for me.

I have a couple of OVH servers and they are fast as hell + cheap. If I ever have an issue or want something proactive I email SS and they do it for me quickly.

Downtime with OVH has been amongst the lowest I've had with any host...

If anyone goes on self-managed, you can find in https://library.linode.com/ how to install almost anything

Here are some of the LAMP guides I use https://library.linode.com/lamp-guides and I almost always use ubuntu for my servers

Hmmm.. hezner limits you to 30TB/month so I went with Redstation - max bandwidth per month is 321TB
