How to edit YouTube embed code

Hello, I have a video sales page. The problem is if I right-click my embedded YouTube video then it will show "copy video URL" and copy video URL at current time" and "copy embed code".

How can I not show users this?

Or even better, how can I disable right-click on my embedded YouTube video altogether?

I don't want to disable right-click for the entire LP because then people can't click my "buy now" button.

I've tried <body oncontextmenu="return false"> but that disables the user from clicking my buy now button.

You can position a div over your video.
I've done it before.. but it's been a few years so am not sure how to do it anymore. Something with z-index and giving the div a correct size and positioning on your page so it sits over your video.

Test the result in several browsers and make sure the div is actually placed where you want it to be. You can easily see that if you give it a border or a background color for testing purposes.

You might want to consider using Vimeo hosting instead. Vimeo Pro is pretty inexpensive and allows you to select where your vid can be embedded and what controls show on the player.

Positioning a div over the vid will work, but if you're worried about savvy people copying the vid they'll probably just "view source" and copy it that way.

I don't care about other affiliates copying my video because I own the offer and I have DMCA'd it and the lp and already spoken to all of my traffic sources and they will take anything down that looks like my lp.

I'm worried about the user seeing the "copy video url" and thinking the video is bs because its on YouTube. Is that a realistic concern or am I just worrying over nothing?

You can hide most of the video controls with URL parameters https://developers.google.com/youtube/player_parameters

Hopefully that helps. I wouldn't be too worried about people thinking a video is BS because it's on YouTube as that is the most known video platform on the internet.

Yeah, I looked through those URL parameters but I couldn't find one that would fix it.

Are you worried specifically about the user right-clicking on the video and seeing "copy video URL", then copying it and seeing it's a YouTube URL?

If so, I wouldn't worry about that - only a tiny percentage of visitors will ever go that far.

Exactly yeah.

Do you know of any similar services to YouTube with free video hosting? I checked into Vimeo, but thats $200 a year which isn't much. I just wanted to see if there were any other popular free video hosting services.

I use SublimeVideo. Can load Youtube videos but in their nice HTML5 player. Plenty of customisation options, lightbox mode, etc. Free plan works well.
