Pop Ad Traffic - Thoughts? (11)

Pop Ad Traffic - Thoughts?

Hi,

I'm working with an affiliate network that is pitching my website offer to one of their affiliates that they say has a good pop traffic source. They say my website would get around 2+ million views a day. I was never a big fan of pop traffic because I feel like it's not targeted traffic that is seeing my landing page, and it's just random.

I'm not saying I wouldn't get any leads, since I'm putting my landing page in front of 2+ million faces a day, but not sure how many of these leads will actually turn into monetizing customers. I could see the leads being better quality if the pops are being generated from websites that match up well with my niche, but if the websites generating these pops are for people who like "ties" and my website is selling "fishing rods"; are these leads even worth it?

But at the same time how good could this affiliate's pop traffic be? Can't I just go to a site like FullTraffic.net or something similar and do the exact same thing?

I'm trying to talk to them to try to pitch my offer to affiliates that would use PPC (Google Adwords, Bing Ads, FB Ads, etc.), email marketing, or banner image ads because I feel these methods can be controlled better and bring in better targeted leads.

Does anyone have any experience with pop traffic? Is this something I should be willing to try from a merchant/advertiser standpoint, or are these leads I would receive from pop be very random and low quality?

I know when I see a pop ad I would say 99.9% of the time I immediately close it because it has nothing to do with what I'm looking for or doing. And I just don't want to have all these pop ads popping up on people's PCs and just stretching my bandwidth/server to it's limits.

Thank you!

PPV ads can work - indeed, they can make a lot of money - but usually targeting is very important.

If they're offering you untargeted pops, I'd be pretty skeptical myself.

Depends on the price, of course!

Ok, thank you!

Yes, that's a good point...I'll definitely confirm with them if they can provide me with more details regarding how targeted this traffic is.

Are there any other well-known traffic sites like FullTraffic.net that I can look into? I just want to familiarize myself with who are the big players in this field...

Thank you!

Why not pay them on a CPA or CPS basis?

Leadimpact is a good source. Wiget media, ad supply are good too.

Depending on where you are and what your niche is, ZeroPark's good too.

Pop ads work 100%, no question about it. Just like all other traffic you'll have to test a lot.

Ok, that's good to know!

But based on your experience with pop ads; have you seen pop ads bring in high quality leads on the merchant/advertiser side?

Thank you!

I can vouch for pop ads too, untargeted not so much.

Have they given you a breakdown of the demo it is?

Just following up on the previous threads - does anyone have any direct experience of working with WigetMedia? Im promoting file cleaners and would love to figure out away to target torrent style traffic.

Any suggestions on how I might do that &/or feedback on the likes of WigetMedia or Exoclick who I believe both have some torrent ad inventory?

Big thanks in advance!

You kind of missed the boat promoting cleaners thanks to http://techcrunch.com/2014/03/29/goo...-android-apps/

I should clarify Im more focused on toolbar stuff (all desktop) as opposed to file cleaners for mobile & such.

Really just interested to learn about who has had success with torrent traffic & if so which networks worked best.
