Question About Start Up Tools

Hi guys, I have been reading a lot of the posts and read caurmen's complete getting started guide. Thanks caurmen the guide was awesome, I still want to ask a couple questions. I have seen several times about using a vpn for landing pages. Is that generally the best when starting out with a limited budget? I have seen a wordpress plugin that does landing pages and caurmen also posted landing page html code on here so was wondering if a vpn is really needed for landing pages.

Secondly, has anyone used bevo media and how is it compared to prosper 202. I have read elsewhere that p202 has gone down since someone (cant remember the name) took over the company. It it true or should I go with prosper as opposed to bevo. At this point I don't know how to use any of them so I value your opinions. I was thinking of dating offers on POF to start, is it too competitive?

A VPN is used to view offers from different country IPs. You don't need a VPN to create landers.

You can just use a basic HTML editor to build you landers. Use whatever you find easiest. I use text edit haha.

Prosper202 will do everything you need to do when starting out. I use a customised version of Propser202 but can still run my campaigns without those addons.

Dating and POF is fine place to start. It's competitive which means affs are making money there, so can you!

Sorry I meant VPS, but you answered my question thanks.

Yes, it's definitely, definitely worth getting a VPS.

The reason to get a VPS is landing page and tracker speed: all else being equal, the faster your landing pages load, the more conversions you'll get. And shared hosting (non-VPS or dedicated server web hosting) is very unreliable for tracking - you can easily lose $x,xxx with bad tracking data. It's just not worth it.

Prosper's great, and is still a very solid choice for tracking (although you might want to consider the STM Mobile Tracker instead, as it's Prosper but with more features). If you're planning to start POF, I'd also strongly recommend looking at POFpro, which is a dedicated tracking and management tool for POF.

Caurmen (or others),

I going to get my feet wet with POF/dating offers. I had been planning to run Propser202 based on recs and it's longevity.

Are Prosper and POFPRO interchangeable? If so, is it worth just using POFPRO?

I do plan to move onto other traffic sources after POF so unless there is some huge benefit it seems like Prosper is the way to go. Free and works elsewhere besides POF?

Thoughts?

Honestly, if you're going to be doing POF, get POFpro. It'll make your life a lot easier.

When you start moving on, you can get another tracker - but you're likely to be working POF for a few months, so POFpro will be a decent investment.

So I already had Propser202 installed on my VPS. If I get POFPRO I'd just not use the Prosper until I moved on to a different traffic source?

^ Yes you are correct.

Yep, exactly.
