To DNS Prefetch or Not To DNS Prefetch...

That is the question ^^.

Have heard some mixed things about prefetching DNS on mobile. 1) it speeds up the redirects, 2) it slows down page load time and actually doesn't speed up the redirects

Anyone have any experience with these?

I'd strongly recommend doing a comparative test using real user load time data (or just conversion rates). It's only going to change your load times by a couple of hundred milliseconds either way, and from what I know of DNS Prefetching it's going to vary somewhat from lander to lander depending on number of links, etc.

I'd also be a little concerned that the results will vary by browser - it would appear that prefetch-related performance issues are not 100% understood and catalogued yet, to put it mildly.

I might actually do a test on this myself... The more I read around the more intrigued I am.
