The HOTELS you should BOOK for the Bangkok meetup!

Lets all stay NEARBY?
This way we run into each other for breakfast, lunch, can all meetup easily and can share beers on a moments notice.

We've narrowed down a very specific area where everyone should book their stay for March 14th - 17th 2014!

The area is right beside the Terminal 21 shopping mall in central Bangkok. It's along the Sukhumvit street. Tons of food, to do's shopping, other hotels, easy taxi access.. boom boom!

MAPS OF THE AREA

All the hotels listed below are within the rectangle.

5 RECOMMEND HOTELS IN THE AREA (all within walking distance of each other and near Terminal 21 shopping mall)

1. Grande Centre Point Hotel Terminal 21 (where STM + F5 will be "headqaurters'ing" at)

I would also suggest the 5 star hotels between the Ploenchit and Chidlom BTS stops by Sukhumvit road as well. Its close to the best shopping malls in Bangkok as well as only two stops or so away from Asoke.

These three hotels are right on the BTS Skytrain

Also, anyone who has a Amex Plat card - call their travel service about the FHR program for some awesome benefits! The price is usually the same and it stacks with the hotel's loyalty program.

Whats FHR?

Just FYI, the streets are blocked off around the malls (Siam) so it's pretty bad logistics to stay in that area. The trains are still running and you can get everywhere in the area by foot, but people are camping out in the streets and blocking cars from passing through. On the BTS it seems like stops from Siam to Asoke are not the best places to stay during these protests...

Also, somebody told me that there was a bomb threat in Asoke today... not sure how valid the threat is, but the protests seem to be slowly escalating. I'm sure it won't affect the meet up though.. things seem peaceful around these parts right now.

Looks like the protests are closer to the park and Monument - if you avoid the BTS, and take cabs, my friends living there say it doesn't really effect them.

Grande Centre Point Hotel Terminal 21: STM & F5 are booked to stay here from March 14, checking out on the 17th.

The Meet-Up & Open Bar on March 14th will be held at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit <<< get to know this hotel, as it's going to be a main location to meet everyone before travelling to other areas of bangkok.

Booked! Grande Centre Point Hotel Terminal 21

From March 13th-17th, so im gonna be there a day earlier if anyone wants to meet up.... Im hosteling/airbnb the rest of the time to party it up from March 2nd till the 13th...

Edit: Dude, Bangkok is soooo cheap.... I just looked at an apartment on airbnb for the 2 weeks prior to the 13th of March and its $27/night... So 2 weeks in an apartment for half the price of the 4 nights of hotel stay ;-) FnA...

Booked Grande Centre Point Hotel Terminal 21 as well! From the 14-17th

If anyone on a tight budget like me who wants to share accommodation PM me I'm friendly and don't bite.

I paid $427 for 3 nights. So just chip in $210 and I'm happy if you're happy
