Some mobile questions (25)

Some mobile questions

Hello,

I have some doubts about mobile if you could help.

1. STM tracker is enough for mobile? I read that imobitrax gets weekly carrier updates and I don't know what other updates, but are they necessary? Can we live without these updates?
2. To create a mobile lander, should it be short like caurmen's guide in this thread with buttons above the fold or longer like that other thread from bbrock32?
3. If it is a long copy, should it be an image or text with images for the copy?
4. Do we have to pass all the variables in incrowdads or just the bidhash and then check the reports inside adcrowdads?
5. Every network AM I ask for mobile offers, he tells me to do adult stuff. Adult is also the best niche for mobile? But then no mobile tracker is needed, is that correct? There are no carriers involved I suppose since I would be advertising in TJ/exo... or there are other adult sources similar to incrowdads?

Thank you!

1. Yep, some seriously big affiliates use the STM Mobile Tracker to track their mobile campaigns. It does the job well!
2. Split-test, split-test, split-test. Everything from uber-short text-only landers to big all-singing-all-dancing multi-page jobs can work for different campaigns.
3. Text will almost certainly load faster and render better, so go with that.
4. I'll leave that to more Incrowd-expert people to answer.
5. You'll still need a tracker, at least if you're planning to run landers - which I'd definitely recommend testing at least with adult.

Basically what Caurmen said.

I don't think you need weekly carrier updates. Even if you need just update the Maxmind DB often and that's it.

That's the same DB other mobile trackers use.

1. It doesnt get weekly carrier updates. In fact version 3.4 which is current version wasnt updated in months.

5. So the best performing offers in mobile are also adult offers?

varies greatly man... my advice would be to pick a niche in mobile and just go after it. People are making a lot of money with:

1) adult
2) app installs
3) pin submits
4) games

Pick one of those niches, talk to your AM's to ask which are doing well and get as much info from them as you can, and see if you can spy on the source you pick somehow and gain an insight as to how the offers are promoted.

Then launch campaigns and test as much as you can till you're caking :-).

I already asked a couple of AMs and they both told me mobile adult were the best performers as I said in my first post point 5.

When it is mobile adult, it means exo/TJ and all these? Or what are adult mobile traffic sources? This means I don't have to deal with carriers and I can just use cpv lab?

Those are two adult traffic sources, but other mobile ad networks have "adult" targeting as well. We haven't messed around with adult too much so we aren't as versed as others out there, but my guess that that carriers can probably still have an affect on conversions. Maybe people aren't on WIFI when they're watching and some carriers have better signal than others, or better data plans, or some other variable that could have an influence. I'd at least be prepared for it.

Get the STM tracker since it's free and see if it doesn't or not. Some offers it might have a great affect on and other offers it might not.

If you don't test things for yourself you will never find the gold.

Don't try and fish without putting some bait out there.

I know, I know, but I just need to know which road to follow to get started in mobile

If it is adult mobile, then maybe better not to go for incrowd ads and go for TJ/exo... Just wanted to know that

From what I understand, there's no single vertical crushing it in mobile right now - people are having success in several areas, including adult mobile.

But picking one vertical and sticking to it is what's important - so if you're thinking to hit adult, go for it!

pick a vertical - ie. dating, casual dating, adult dating, gambling, sweeps, etc. - and crush it.

That's exactly right, there are multiple massive streams of income in mobile, there is SO MUCH DAMN traffic.

Utility Apps, dating, sweeps etc are some of the biggest

Where do you find some of these adult Android offers? I own an app that does 2-3 million impressions a day and I want to run some affiliate offers alongside my Admob banners. So obviously there's no restrictions on what I can run.

Guys, can someone answer my simple question? Where do you buy traffic for adult mobile offers? Is it in TJ/exo and similar?

Let me know if you need help finding offers

Bro There are a shit load of traffic sources for mobile adult. There is a list of networks somewhere on this site....in either the mobile section or the adult section. Also you can try and go direct to the source which is unlimited amount of sources. You just have to do your research. My personal opinion if you are this lost already....Then dont jump into adult mobile or mobile period. Go get a bit more experience with pof or something to help with your basic marketing practices. Im not being rude man but mobile period is not cheap and there are a lot more challenges you will incur....learn how to make fast rendering landers that show on each different device properly, Need high speed server...its all about speed man, need solid mobile tracking solution, need to know how to read your data and optimize your campaigns efficiently. The mobile game is way different than web man. If you have a big budget and you want to learn..... go for it as it will be an expensive lesson. If you are on a tight budget...I suggest you don't start here.

Hope it's a good thread to ask few noob questions.

1. How can I promote an offer? Can I DL, promote only banners? Only LP?
2. Who is the audience and how (and when) they see promoted stuff? Are they users who have installed X or Y or Z app and they see some pop-ups while using them?

If it depends on an ad network, let's focus on Decisive.

Thanks in advance!

@kamaleon You can just pass the bid hash and then check the stats on the platform, but if you also wanted to collect your information externally you can use the macros for that.

So the answer is it works fine with the just the bid hash.

@matishere
1) You can Direct Link or use Landing Pages, whichever your heart desires and the offer works with.
2) We publish a planner with a breakdown of the sites and apps that people would be visiting to see your ads. It has the amount of traffic there and targeting options such as specifying site/app, carriers, device type, operating system, os version, form factor (bar=smartphone, phablet, tablet, etc.).
