Direct linking conversion rate / ROI

Hi stackers!

Quick question: when in the direct linking phase (before you add landers to increase conversion rate), what ROI / conversion rate statistics do you look for before you pull the trigger on landers?

Thanks!

I'm not a specialist in any form.. but I'm guessing is connected to the fact that,
if you are not getting the positive ROI after testing traffic sources you try landing pages.

From what I've seen here... you should test it based on the payout, some people have
said you should test it 3x the payout of the offer.

I personally test it with at least 10k views...

It depends on many factors for example:

If the offer pays 1, then I run it 5x offer payout per placement before cutting...

During the process I am removing banners that spend the offer payout 5x with 0 leads, and putting in new fresh banners with different angle and leaving banners that made conversions going..

what type of offer are you running? I would say that the vast majority of offers perform better with landing pages, and most verticals have pretty generic landers that are a safe base / starting point to launch from. I personally don't perform a direct linking phase on 99% of my campaigns, but it does depend on your traffic source / type of offer.

It honestly will vary a TON between different types of traffic/offers.

Sometimes you direct link something (say a loan form) and you'll get 0 leads, but a landing page will get you 3 $40 leads from the same $ spent on traffic.

You slowly get an intuition for it all, but if you don't have one for it, then I'd at least test 1 lander before pulling the plug.

I'm doing niche dating stuff on PoF. I've seen a few nice landers that are basically screenshots of the offer landing page with some calls to actions and qualifiers etc. I'm up for that, but I wonder if I should run direct for a while first and assess ROI to judge the offer.
