If I block IP's within a "range"..(see screenshot), will I potentially lose traffic

Ok for some of you IP blocking experts... Im using IP Deny Manager within Cpanel... basically..Im wondering how I got TONS of impressions from Japan even though I aint payin for Int'l traffic, Im assuming someones spying so I will block their ip's.

What Im wondering is if I do an IP block within a certain "range" .. for example if Im blocking this group: http://awesomescreenshot.com/011290r720 can I use the "block iP range" feature : http://awesomescreenshot.com/0dd290rv1d If so, how would you approach it.. Range or Implied range.

Second concern is.. if I block a range of IP's, is there a chance that at I may block out future visitors that may fall within that range somehow? Im just not well versed on how IP's work, since I thought IP's can move from one region to another and I had previously assumed each country had their own set of prefixes attached to them but looking at the screenshot... its only the last 4 digits that are different between a US vs Japan IP so Im thinking I need to be strict if blocking with the 'range' feature...cuz the last thing I want to do is block legit visitors

a few bits of advice

don't waste your time on this it's a fools errand your time is better spent launching new camps and testing new angles..

adding a bunch of ips like that to cpanel stands to slow your whole server down as it needs to check for every request

also on the whole japan thing it's prolly just trend micro doing it's malware search bot bit...and you will still pay for them no matter if you block them or not

I can confirm this.

Tried in the past and did more harm than good. I wasted my time, slowed down my server and at the end noticed no real improvements on campaigns.

I created a huge blocklist with every Hide My Ass IP known to man just to fuck with other affiliates. Not worth the time and effort.
