Have a 500 000 email list and need an advice (14)

Hey guys. I recently got a 500k email list that didnt optin for my offers (got it from someone who thinks that it had been copied from a server of some big company, but not sure as that someone also got it elsewhere). I know that if I try using some legit service out there they would definitely ask to provide a proof of how I got this list and I obviously can not do that.

Any advice on how can I get it working ? Thanks

Delete it. Personally I _HATE_ it if people give my data away when I decided not to buy. Build your legit list and help the world by providing valuable information & stuff.

Thanks for a valuable advice buddy Ill go ahead and flush that cash down the toilet that I spent getting that list. Im sure you are helping the world running weight loss, skin care even dating or whatever offers that wont do shit except milking peoples wallets Otherwise what are you doing in affiliate marketing industry ?

Even if I have the same thought as u toneko, I can tell u from experience that it will make more problems than earnings to use that list. Had the same situations some years ago and went into deep trouble after they found out that the list leaked from some company. Some users sign up with unique adress at companys so they can exactly say that company XYZ has a leak.

It's not the same, you're comparing apple to oranges.

If I advertise in facebook a dating affiliate product, weight loss other whatsoever then the user decides to click on the ad & decides to buy or not to buy.

You dont do the same because the user didnt want to receive your stuff.

But hey, it was my advice and my opinion only. Do whatever you want to do. My goal was only to make you think about what you actually want to do ;-)

Toneko, not sure which country you are from, but in most countries, just spamming people is definitely illegal. Swissfactor's advice is the right one.

Getting 500,000 random email addresses is not a big deal. You can pay someone on elance $10 to create a PHP script to just scrape random email addresses off of Google or Bing.

The value of email data (for legitimate purposes) is driven by how much purchase intent is latent in that consumer.

For any legitimate purposes, scrapped or stolen email data is not only worthless but in fact carries a negative value.

Thanks for the input guys really appreciate it. I just remember about a year ago (cant remember the source though unfortunately, otherwise I would have reached out ) reading a forum or fb discussion and there was this guy who had about 1M of similar emails that managed to squeeze around 1,5-2 k every other time. So was hoping to hear some advice on the tech side. But thanks anyway !

I have 3 million records, generated with high purchase intent on websites that I own and operate. I email to a different small segment twice every week, and this generates 5 figures of profit per month, and 6 figures profit per year.

So high purchase intent email records can be very valuable.

How much did you pay for it? How did you decide what to pay without knowing what rev you're gonna generate with it?

Sounds like a scraped list. The value of a list whose users didn't opt in is pretty much zero. It's not illegal to send them emails as long as they're CAN-SPAM compliant, however, you will quickly get banned from ESPs, and if you use your own IPs they will get blacklisted within an hour.

You're wasting your time.
