When do you kill a campaign? (5)

When do you kill a campaign?

I'm fairly new to this game so I was just wondering at what point do you guys make the decision to kill a campaign that you are struggling to get profitable?

Is it based on a certain spend or number of banners/combos tested?

I ask as I'm pushing a $2 SOI offer and I'm about $1400 down. It's a US offer and it does convert well, I've come a long way with my banners and landers thanks to all the great info on this forum. During the last week or so I've spent $800 and I'm -20% down. The CVR from the best banners to the offer is anywhere from 4-5.5%. I think my issue is the cost of traffic.

For those of you that have been doing this for a while, how many campaigns out of 10 can you normally get profitable?

To lower cost of traffic make higher ctr banners. That or you are simply on the wrong placement like i was when i kept losing.

See what factors you can still change on your campaign.

If you have still left ( can create higher CTR banners, can create better landers, get better payout etc ) keep testing since -20% is not a bad ROI.

If -20% is after you have done all optimizations you can then drop the campaign and move to smth else.

^^ agreed. Do some multivariate testing on your lander. Let it run to 100 clicks per lander before jumping to conclusions

Thanks bbrock. I will run a bit more traffic to it and will also see if I can get a payout bump.

iamattila, 100 clicks is way too little, I've tested over 10 variations and I always run at least 500 clicks to a lander before I 'jump to a conclusion'
