At what point do you guys empty your click database in iMobitrax? Does this vary based on server setup or anything?
Currently we're doing around 350k clicks a day, and it's only going to grow... by weeks end we should be hitting 1m clicks+ daily. Our server is setup with Rackspace Cloud, don't know the specs but could get them if needed.
Any advice would be great! Thanks!
It'll definitely vary by your server spec. However, I'm afraid I don't know enough about iMobiTrax's tracking setup to give precise advice!
Anyone?
Thanks Caurmen!
Bumping this...we're already at 315k clicks today (10am est)... and not sure how it'll effect anything. Wrote in to iMobitrax support as well so we'll see what they say.
I'm averaging 300k clicks a day and have 10mil + in the database at the moment and its as fast as new.
I'm running it on a 8 cores 16mb RAM dedi (apache + mysql)
Hope that helps
Thanks Guys!
Ask your host how big your database is and if it's approaching your ram limit, it's time to start clearing clicks or upgrade your server.
Our iMobiTrax database is well over 100GB and redirects are still very fast.
Moving it to a RAID array of SSD's made a big difference for generating reports.
Just hire a mysql sysadmin and you will sole all problems
