Everytime.... Up My Spend Ruin My Awesome Consistent Camp

So Anytime I up my camp on a constant running ad it tanks. Had a 1k daily bump to 1500 today. I was running 1000 getting 150+ ROI daily for several days and at 12am for the new day I bumped it to the 1500. It went from .15 link clicks to 1.17 Link Clicks spent 500 in 30 min.

This is what happens when your budget increases midday. Facebook attempts to make up for the lower spending earlier in the day, which ends up shooting the CPC higher - not to mention that the traffic "feels" worse.

I believe he is saying that he did it at midnight though.

I have this issue with "consistent ads" that have been comfortably chugging along for awhile. If seems like FB is more willing to let you expand the budget when you change it as soon as possible.

If I up mine on day one as soon as I know it's not going to get cheaper, I can scale multiple times. If I wait more than two days, changing the budget is nothing but detrimental.

Sorry, on the first read I thought he said 12 PM.

Either way it does seem that Facebook had a mishap when it came to allocating your spend. It should spend 1/3 of your daily spend within 30 minutes of the new day, so I would follow things closely for the next few days, this shouldn't repeat.

12am comes after 11am so that is Midday - No?

He bumped it at midnight... for anyone wondering:
12:00am --> 12:01am (midnight)
12:00pm --> 12:01pm (midday)

I would just create more adverts with the increased budget... fidgeting with any ad after it's established its place in the queue/ranks seems to give me crappy results too.

I remember reading something in their dev section about this recently. I'll try and dig it up when I get some time.

As long as the target demo for the camp is fairly high (400k+) just duplicate the campaign in Power Editor.

The other thing I've found works better is to make very small budget increases ($25-50), even if it's several during a day, is much better than moving one campaign up +$500 at once.

Also I've learned to never ever increase budgets late at pre midnight; I lost a few hundred before I learned that.

My Facebook ad account is setup for 12am pacific but I'm on eastern so my days spend doesn't change over til 3am. I don't know of a way to change this but you can check it in your account settings.

Try doing what the guy suggested 2 posts up, and increase it $10-50 every hour or 2.

Is your Facebook time zone the same as where you live?
I learned my Facebook was 2 hours behind the hard way, while bumping campaigns at midnight and noticing how my money disappeared in 2 hours until 2am

By the way, does anybody knows if the timeline can be changed? Mine seems to be locked, and while I'm a nightly owl, I'd rather change it at midnight instead of 2am.

Curious if this is mobile? I know this is definitely amplified more on mobile than it is desktop nf/side.

Have you noticed it leveling back out over time? Usually the campaign will "settle" and your click prices will drop back down to where they were. Has happened to us a lot as well, but the cpc's always seem to level out after a day or two.

Did you notice any changes in CTR?

No, it can't be changed. It's an awful pain point for a lot of us but FB just doesn't have an option to change time zone at this point. Whatever you had at the time you created your account is what you're stuck with.
