Imobitrax vs CPVlab
I've been using Imobitrax for the past few months, hate the monthly fee though that is why I'm thinking about CPVLab.
Heard that Imobitrax is faster than CPVLab though..
Which one is better and why? Thoughts please

"which one is faster" is not that simple, cpvlab is self hosted so the speed will be dependent on factors such as your server resources, configuration, and the network connection of your server. I haven't used imobitrax, but I'm assuming it's hosted by them if there is a subscription.

Self-hosted, you pay a licensing fee which includes them updating the databases for geo etc.. But it's 100% self hosted.

CPVLab certainly tends to slow down with large datasets. However, with a powerful server, it's still very usable: you just have to clear out your data quite often if you're running large volume.
I don't know what tech iMobiTrax is based on to comment on its speed, I'm afraid.

Hi I am new and planning on using cpvlabs. Can you define what you consider a large data set? I'm not really worried because the server is 8 cores and 72 gigs of ram but I am just curious for my own knowledge.

@fightingfffreedom - A million-plus clicks generally is enough to slow down the older trackers. Over 5 million usually becomes unmanagable.

For both ( or any tracker in general ) , switching the DB from MyIsam to InnoDB helps a lot.

I am guessing oracle only scales this more?

You mention older trackers. Can you name some of the newer trackers?

iMobiTrax supports InnoDB too now.
