Hey guys, I launched a FB ad campaign and its going alright. I am getting really cheap clicks .15cents a click straight to my review flog than it takes them to my check out page. I own the product and everything so the payout is really good giving me more wiggle room. But my conversion rate is awful! Not sure if its the traffic source or my lander - check out. Its profitable but a 0.64% conversion rate for a high content flog and good check out w/ the most popular diet product going right now seems low.
any conversion/optimizing experts out there willing to spend an hr with me and look through my process to lend a hand? I will pay you for your time of course but Ive just been so nose deep in this thing I may have lost perspective a bit and could be missing something simple. I am using mouse flow but nothing is really jumping out.
Is that conversion rate super low for what I am up to?
Cheers !
I am going to move on to other traffic sources to see if its the traffic quality as well, but its pretty targeted in facebook. I figure I should get one stream down, profitable and scale it a bit than move onto a new one and master that. That a good route to go ?
Have you implemented split-tests right down the funnel to checkout? That's the first thing I'd recommend: testing variants on the entire funnel to see if anything starts to make the conversion rate jump.
Also, have you run user tests? http://www.usertesting.com/ is a fantastic service: spend $250 on five user tests with them and you'll probably find all sorts of issues you'd never have thought of!
Very cool, will def check out user testing. Haven't dont split testing cause the funnel is so long and not really sure what to change. Is there any services that would just take a look and point anything out? I guess that user testing might get that job done. would be nice to have someone on the inside share a view.
thanks for the reply tho caurmen! Its profitable so thats good, just gotta tighten it up before I add more traffic sources
No optimizing experts around?
I'm not even sure what a good conversion rate should be given my funnel. should I measure from the second the traffic hits my lander? Or measure the conversion of ppl that actually make it to my check out page. the check out page conversion is good, at 3-4%. But the whole funnel starting at the lander is pretty low .5%
There are LOOOOADS of Conversion Rate Optimisation resources out there that would be worth looking at for your funnel: CRO is a huge topic of interest for pretty much every internet sales company out there.
Check out Moz.com's resource on CRO for starters: http://moz.com/blog/the-definitive-h...e-optimization
And this guy's pretty much the God of CRO over on Hacker News, where all the cool Software-As-A-Startup kids hang out: http://www.kalzumeus.com/2012/12/21/...are-companies/
awesome Thanks caurmen for all the replies. won't re ask for the third time, promise
appreciate it!
