Hey guys,
I was thinking about the other day about the relationship i have with my AM. I run mostly with one network and have a pretty tight e-relationship to my affiliate manager. And it struck me, i have no idea if my AM is good or bad since i have nothing to compare to.
So i'd like to ask you guys, what kind of help do you get from your AMs? How much of your success can be credited to tips & tricks provided by your AM? What makes a good AM?
Mine is pretty much almost reachable, which is good. I get bumps and it feels like he works alot trying to get me private offers and custom payouts, as long as i bring on some quality volume. Sometimes i get a few reports from whatrunswhere that's supposed to tell me where i could run certain offers etc. But that's pretty much it.
I could imagine having an AM that is REAAAAALLY involved in your stats, handing you new angles to test for an offer, linking to competitors LPs, finding positions/placements that you can snipe down etc. Always giving you personal caps & private offers off the bat.
Thoughts?
Really good question mate!
I have quite a few affiliate managers. The all do different stuff for me. I have two favorites though.
I trust them.
They are very responsive.
They are very professional.
The promotions they push are relevant.
They don't focus on just beating other networks payouts.
Nothing crazy special there.
I will never forget what one AM did though. I told him I was going camping for the weekend, I was going without an internet connection. I was running around $15,000 rev per day. Using 202 hosted tracking. They day I left, the offer went down. He had no way of contacting me. So he contacted the 202 owners, and they worked together to switch my links to a relevant offer from another network. This AM saved me $30,000 in one weekend. He went well out of his way to help me, and sent my traffic to a competing network to do so. Josh Todd holla!
I work with quite some networks and have many AMs. However the ones I like the most all have in common :
1 - Being professional
2 - Knowing what they are talking about. Quite some AMs have no idea about affiliate marketing at all.
3 - Going out of their way to help you. For example instead of just sending out the network wide email for an offer pause they call you to make sure you read it.
4 - Replying quickly
