How Do I Test Ads Effectively on JuicyAds? (13)

How Do I Test Ads Effectively on JuicyAds?

I've been running ads on JuicyAds and I'm confused about how to run ads effectively there. On other traffic sources, you split test with 2-3 ads at the same time. Then after a certain time, you know which ads convert better and have better CTRs, etc. But you can't split test 2-3 ads at the same time on JuicyAds. You can only test one ad at a time. I'm just curious how other people run ads on JA. Do you make a new banner everyday and upload it everyday? Or you test a banner for a week and test another next week? Thanks for your help.

Yes, basically I'm testing new banner everyday. After few days I can see winners and then repeat with them again. I'm new to JA as well, but this is how I do it.

Do you see many conversions on JuicyAds? Sometime not sure if my banners are bad or websites are bad.

I don't follow any golden rules.

Juicy is a hideous platform if you're looking for an exact science in your testing.

I use other traffic sources to test my creatives - then port the winner over to Juicy.

When the performance starts to sag, replace the banner.

You have to be realistic in your expectations if it's a 30 day placement.

The money is not in your banner.

It's in pinpointing the best sites; the sites that actually convert from the hundreds that don't. Then putting as much of that traffic to work as you can in different geos.

And this platform you recommend it for starting out? Hummmmmm

Yes.

You can test as many ads/landing pages/offers as you want on Juicy, very easily, without having to go through approvals, and without the psychological barrier of your funds depleting by the second. Once you pay for the placement, that's it.

Finch, it is not that easy for newbies as you mentioned two posts above because you need to have already a tested and good banner. How can a newbie then start with that source?

In addition to all that you have to do some redirects which might mess up with tracking softwares. We are in a skype group, and people trying JA as you recommended are having a very difficult time...

It also contradicts what caurmen has written in the getting started guide where you should be testing 10 ads at the same time...

Just my humble thoughts

@kkarmaleon, what you are probably noticing is that people are getting the same traffic source to work using different strategies. I don't know any sources where there is one and only one way to make it work.

As a newbie I did run JA. The reason I went there is there is not as much competition compared to other networks like TJ and Exo, you can find some gem placements for cheap. The JA platform isn't user friendly, but it's worth the hassle if you are on a budget.

You don't need a great banner to succeed with Juicy. You can get away with one that is merely average.

Obviously you should should aim to have a great one, but it's not as important as it is on platforms like Exo and TJ.

I port across my winning ads from other traffic sources. But that's something I do with every traffic source. You should always be testing what you know to work elsewhere when you're launching new campaigns. You don't need that information to make money with Juicy. It's just a nice bonus.

Juicy is all about finding the best placements.

If you have a good placement, you'll make money.

If you take out a placement on a junk site, no amount of banner optimising is going to save you.

While I recommend it as a good starting point for new adult marketers, that's not to say it's easy. Same for any traffic source.

From my experience, no other adult platform offers as much 'low hanging fruit' as Juicy.

@Finch So what you're saying is split test banners on TJ or Exo and find out which banners get best CTRs and conversion rates. Then move the banners to Juicy Ads?

If I'm understanding the way JuicyAds works (it's been living on my "I must test this soon" list for nearly a year now), you can also test 10 ads on there - you've just got to do it one at a time.

A few sources work like this: it's annoying but doable, particularly if the placement you're testing has high traffic.

Run an ad with the usual hurdles (kill it at 1.2k if no clicks, 5k if below 0.1% CTR, etc). When it fails one of those hurdles, run the next ad. Repeat until profitable

BTW, I'm assuming that Juicy won't let you run ads from your own adserver? If it lets you use something like Adzerk, that'd be a solid way around the problem.

great thread... was wondering about juicy... their system seemed clunky, but the method you guys are explaining makes a lot of sense... will implement.

I think techniques used for JuicyAds can be used for media buying in general.
