So I'm creating more and more campaigns by the day, but one issue I have ran into is having winning campaigns turn into losing ones because they experience "banner burnout". I keep running them too long because I am extremely disorganized, I was doing my stats by day 1 of the campaign to the current day lol, so obviously the stats will be off and will not be accurate.
Do you guys simply have an excel spreadsheet that you keep track of your stats on a daily basis? How do you know a banner has officially burned out...the roi takes a dip in the negative?
Banner burnout is part of the game. ALWAYS be making new banners!
I don't personally track each banners performance but if your a hands on stats type of person it's a good idea.
Well, how do you deal with campaigns if say one of your banners is a huge winner, but the rest suck?
No magic really, i do my best to duplicate that banner with new elements.
Figure out the winning aspect of your main banner, and make MANY variations. You'll end up finding some winners. Adding a border, or changing a color doesn't do much in my opinion.
Yeah, I agree. It's usually a waste of time if your spending time split testing a green background vs blue. Much more important things to test like traffic source, country, banner, etc.
Exactly, but its usually not THAT hard to replicate the success of a banner. If its a REALLY unique image you can photoshop something similar, or hire someone to.
