Why CTR on iOS & Android is way more higher than CTR on other platforms ?

I mean.. for the same exact banners of course.

Do you see this happening to you too ? Any idea about the reasons ?

Thanks.

There are a ton of possibilities:

Screen sizes

Loading speeds

Demographic who buy android and os typically buy better data plans.

Less banner blindness due to tighter regulations of ads on android and os.

The main reason is screen size. Other platforms include feature phones ( or similar ) with limited browser capabilities and little screen space.

Also , depending on buys , android and ios have lots of apps where CTRs are usually higher compared to WAP sites.

Totally depends.. and will differ for everyone. I have 2x higher CTR on blackberry ads than Android/iOS.

Its not really screen size - most mobile banners are 320 or 300 wide and will re-size slightly to fit on smartphones.

Loading speeds...mobile banners are mostly restricted or re-sized to 10kb so it almost always loads super fast.

The MAIN reason is the placement.

In-app placements are really well placed and because there's only 1 banner on the screen it often commands high CTR's. What happens a LOT with in-game placements is accidental clicks during game play.

With WAP sites the banners are sometimes below the fold - which SUCKS for mobile.

Some Apps have GREAT placements like on splash screens so it all depends on the placement which its suck an important metric to optimize.

^^ You can indirectly measure placement by siteid.. (ex: if your placement is sucking, the site ID will likely be crap overall)

considering all the click-fraud/accidental clicks, do you guys prefer to bid CPM over CPC once you know how your banners perform?

For me it varies from platform to platform.

For InCrowd that offers both, I have been split testing lately both methods to see which gives the lower eCPA.

In some cases just changing the model can make a difference.

I prefer CPM over CPC any day. Most networks have a min bid CPC which you can get under why effectively using CPM.
