How To Make APK Android File Redirect to URL?

Tried to find the answer with Google, not much luck. Is it even possible? I just want to make a simple app that just opens a URL ( affiliate link )

Thanks!

Do you want this to happen after they install, or do you want the redirect to happen when they try to install?

Both would be best. During installation they get sent.. and then just in case if they didnt convert they can always go back and click the app to go to it again.. I would think its simple to do, with like one line of code or something but I might be wrong...

Also how hard is it to get approved to be in google play? Do you need a fully functional app and a license?

To the best of my knowledge (I've not done this but I know a lot of people who do) Google Play is still pretty much the Wild West. Upload, fill in forms, pay $25, you're done. The licensing / application process is nowhere near as difficult as it is for iOS, although that might change in the future.

You can definitely develop an app which will redirect to a URL once it's installed: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2...ton-in-android

I'm not sure about redirecting during installation, though.

hey vidivo, check out http://docs.phonegap.com/en/2.1.0/gu...ndroid.md.html or if you are looking for something a little simpler you make these apps using http://seattleclouds.com

just make a simple html landing page and have it click through to your aff link.

hope this helps!

You can say that again. Though they are getting quicker at suspending aps but there's still loads of angles. It's all quick money though, nothing sustainable.

Just a heads up, i tried this. A simple app which when installed placed an icon for a popular game on the desktop with "play me" txt. I threw some android traffic at it and it was interesting how many devices must have had "allow 3rd party apps" ticked. I got a fair amount of traffic but low conversions. This was just a test though. Next plan is to make a simple html5 lander with 3+ games with ratings and which the installed shortcut redirects to. I was thinking this would be more successful with a genre of game rather than random ones. For example strategy, or mmo.

You dont need a google account to make an apk app which you can promote. You just are limited in that the only people who can install it have to have ticked the "allow third party apps" setting
