How long after late payment before you pause traffic when direct

How long do you guys wait to pause traffic when a direct advertiser is late? They've paid out ~240k to me so far this year, never later than the 4th. It's now the 9th, they confirmed receipt of my latest invoice and I know it was Thanksgiving last week, but I haven't received payment and no one has communicated anything to me yet (though they never communicate well so that alone isn't cause for alarm). Current outstanding is ~50k.

It would depend on how well established the company is and if you are able to find other people who work there who would be able to speak to accounting for you (or if they even have an accounting department). If it's a small company of a couple guys who seem shady, I'd pause until I got paid.

Although it's easy to continue "counting your chickens" and it seems like you're making $x,xxx every day with them, you're not making money until they pay you. So I would suggest emailing and saying you will be pausing first thing tomorrow until you get a wire confirmation/receive your payment.

Communication is the most important aspect of doing business online. Without that, there's nothing. Is the company a US company? Thanksgiving only affects those in the US. Thanksgiving was also 2 weeks ago, not one week, so that cannot be an excuse.

If you are doing this much business you should really open up your communication channels. Get one of their mobile numbers. Call them when you have a problem. It's not much to ask since you have already done 300k this year with them.

I would pause out of principle if I was doing that much business and not getting my calls/emails answered.

Presumably you can run their offers through a network too? Probably worth switching until the payment is received.

If they didn't hit you up I would just switch to a network for a couple day.

They will notice if the volume is decent and hit you up right away.
Also this will help to avoid this happening in the future.

This. Won't kill you to pause and you'll feel better until you're paid.

hey, sorry didn't see your follow up. I got in touch w/ them directly and have improved communication overall thanks to your comments. They paid a few days after I made this post so all is well, appreciate everyone who responded.
