cpvlabs - setup and some questions...

hey guys.

i need to setup new tracking

own CPVlabs.

seems like thats the one everyone's using.

Need to set it up for my OWN offer vs affiliate offers.

Is there any difference?

Also... best hosting for this?

I use mediatemple.net for our websites.

Anyone good at installing and setting this stuff up? (i'd pay for it if it was done right)

I'm SO not technical.

thanks in advance :-)

Dave

Add me on skype: tacitgrind

I worked with a couple hrt clinics out here in SOFLA.
I used CPVLab to track the offers we created.

I might be able to help you out, or at least point you in the right direction.

There shouldn't be any huge differences setting up CPVLab for your own offers, provided you can get the postback / pixel to fire OK. If you've set up pixels for other affiliates in the past, which I'm guessing you may have done, then you've basically got all the skills you need.

As a non-technical person I'd probably recommend going with a managed hosting service - I think MediaTemple offer that, and if you're happy with them for your other stuff I'd talk to them first. Make sure you're getting SSDs for the drives on your tracking server - it'll make a significant difference - and ask them about installing MariaDB rather than straight-up MySQL.

Hope that helps!

Hey man , you can get in installed CPVLab by your host if it's managed.

To use it for tracking affiliate offers just put the postback / pixel in the affiliate network.

To track your own offer just place the image pixel in the thank you page ( after people buy / fill a form ) and send traffic to the main product page.

No need to pay anyone , all this shouldn't take more than 15 mins total.

thanks guys for the heads up.

ya its going to be for my stuff.

and some online dating site offers.

gonna test out a new "rules" page I made... will try and liquidate the ad costs by sending optins to dating offers.... then following up via my email autoresponder to close sales for my product.

doesnt seem like mediatemple have SSD's...

so maybe they're not the best to go with for this?

SSDs can make a huge difference in speed so I would go for a host that uses them.

Thank you bbrock32, I have 2 questions in regard to your reply,
1. What if it is a funnel, let say Email optin-->Primary Offer-->upsell 1-->upsell 2--> confirmation, do I place image pixel in all pages?
2. If i run affiliate network's offer, I get payout token, with their specific format such s {revenue} or %revenue%, in this case, in my own funnel, what token do i put?
Thank you

Hey,

1 - I think CPVLab can track only one conversion so put it in the Primary offer if you want to track that ( you won't be able to see upsell1 and upsell2 data ).

2 - In your funnel you can just hardcode the offer payout in the postback url instead of having a token.

P.S If you want to track long funnels I think a better choice would be using FunnelFlux instead of CPVLab
