Which way? Broad in foreign language or niche in English?

Hey there,

I wonder which offer I should promote:

- Broad dating offer in a foreign language (e. g. Be2 in Spain) or
- Niche dating offer in native language (e. g. Military Singles in US / CA / UK)?

Thanks for your help.

Why not niche dating in a foreign language? Choose a broad enough niche and you'll get the added targeting AND the reduced competition.

Of course, you will pay a bit of a price in volume, but there's still plenty of volume in non-English traffic sources. Ask all the guys running adult in German

Thanks for your answer, caurmen (sorry, I feel like a little kid asking so many questions)

I was focussing on which offer was available from many networks. That was actually the broad offer in foreign language... But going into niche for foreign language sounds really tempting (hey, I am from Germany, I know that language pretty well of course...)

Thinking about it... :-)

One thing to add, you don't necessarily need a specific niche offer in order to promote a niche angle.

For your example, you might as well run a Military angle and send to a generic offer like Be2, as long as you bridge the gap with a solid landing page.

Also, a lot of the big mainstream dating offers like Be2 have a bunch of different offer pages for all different kind of angles like seniors, gay, jewish etc, might be worth checking out.

Hi Andy.... (btw, your name sounds somehow German ;-) )

thank you so much, this really closed the gap. I now feel somehow stupid that I didn't see that myself... :-)

Next step -> read the fllow along in your footer, sounds pretty amazing

Haha, close enough, I'm from Austria

Happy to help!

If you speak German really well, you should definitely do a german offer. You can use slang on your creatives that non-speakers won't be able to use.

Also, there is A LOT of german traffic to take advantage of. I've noticed it's one of the bigger non-english speaking demographics

Hey Jasper, thanks for your feedback. In fact I am German and it's my mother tongue... :-)

However I wanted to start with POF and they don't have Germany right now. Any suggestion where to go in terms of traffic?

if you're up to it, adult traffic has tons of german traffic

As I am from germany too, I'd love create a nice slang-german angle as well. Problem is I want to stay on Facebook, any suggestions on what to promote there?

Cheers

^ You can try running games or daily deals there.

Games? It's a bit of a leap from dating, but it does well on Facebook and Germany's a big gaming market.

sorry for the ultra newbie question but what do you guys mean by daily offers?

12-13-2013 10:42 AM #14 caurmen (Administrator)

Daily Deals sites like Groupon - pretty good general converters.

Whats your goal, something that won't required too much "reading into" to figure out if its profitable? Less variables etc?

Is this groupon guide still valid?

Should I sign up directly through Groupon Affiliate program?, or instead use anothe affiliate network?

Thanks.
